Zhengzhou in 3 Days: Shaolin, Only Henan and the Museum, Plus Where to Stay
How to plan 3 days and 2 nights in Zhengzhou: how to divide your time between Henan Museum, Shaolin Temple and Only Henan - Land of Dramas, with a day-by-day plan, where to stay, intercity transport and per-person budget ranges.
Zhengzhou's appeal rests on three things: Henan Museum for Central Plains civilisation, Shaolin in Dengfeng for Chan and martial arts, and Only Henan in Zhongmu for immersive theatre. Three days and two nights gives you one theme per day.
The route runs city, suburb, city, with the furthest point, Dengfeng, in the middle so you do not change hotels every day.
Before You Go

- Trip length: 3 days and 2 nights
- Main cities: Zhengzhou, Dengfeng
- Best for: First-time visitors who want both the city and the nearby countryside
- Pace: Moderate, one or two core stops per day
Day-by-Day Itinerary
- Day 1: Arrive in the morning, then Henan Museum in the afternoon (about 2.5 hours, reservation required), then the Erqi business district or Ruyi Lake at night. Stay in Jinshui or Zhengdong New District.
- Day 2: A full day at Shaolin Temple in Dengfeng (main monastery plus Pagoda Forest, with the kung fu show by the day's schedule), back to Zhengzhou in the evening. Same hotel.
- Day 3: Only Henan - Land of Dramas in Zhongmu in the morning (pick your main theatre, about 4-5 hours), then depart in the afternoon.
Where to Stay
