Do I book my return ticket in advance for a group tour?

[Direct conclusion] If big transport is included, the agency books both ways; otherwise book your own return, avoiding clashes with the plan. Key points to keep in mind: 1. Included: Tours with flights or trains book both ways for you. 2. Self-book: Book your own return if excluded, leave enough time. 3. Timing: Avoid return trips too close to the end of the tour. 4. ◆ Ask: For return booking call for advice. Note: Schedule changes are hard once the itinerary is confirmed, so report early.
