Day 1 Jinan – Baotu Spring – Daming Lake – Quancheng Square

Arrive in Jinan, private transfer, then visit Baotu Spring to see the three surging streams; afternoon stroll Daming Lake; evening music fountain at Quancheng Square. [Attraction intro] Baotu Spring: Official: One of Jinan’s three great sights, hailed as “the No.1 spring under heaven,” with three streams surging and a sound like distant thunder; the park also holds Shuyu Spring and Li Qingzhao Memorial Hall. Personal note: Most impressive after rain when water is high; the park is small, allow an hour. Combine with Daming Lake and Quancheng Square.; Daming Lake: Official: One of Jinan’s three great sights, a natural lake fed by many springs, with pavilions and willows; summer lotus blooms earn it the line “lotus on four sides, willows on three.” Personal note: Walk or boat around the lake; watch Chaoran Tower light up at dusk. Free entry, good for relaxing.

Day 2 Jinan – Qufu Three Confucian Sites

Morning drive to Qufu to visit the Confucius Temple, Mansion and Cemetery with a professional guide on Confucius’s life and Confucian culture. Overnight in Qufu/Tai’an. [Attraction intro] Qufu: Official: In Jining (Shandong), Confucius’s hometown; the “Three Confucian Sites” (Mansion, Temple, Forest) are a 1994 World Heritage Site. Personal note: Hire a guide to understand the Three Sites; dress plainly out of respect; can combine with Mount Tai.

Day 3 Qufu – Mount Tai

Full day at Mount Tai: shuttle from Tianwai Village to Zhongtian Gate, cable car to South Gate, climb to Jade Emperor Peak. Overnight on the summit or descend to Tai’an. [Attraction intro] Mount Tai: Official: The foremost of the Five Sacred Mountains, in Tai’an (Shandong), a 1987 World Heritage Site; summit sunrise/cloud sea is classic. Personal note: Night-climb for sunrise is crowded—stay warm; cable car saves energy; the Dai Temple is on the way.

Day 4 Tai'an – Qingdao – Zhanqiao – St. Michael's Cathedral – Zhongshan Road

Morning transfer to Qingdao by high-speed rail or coach; afternoon at Zhanqiao Pier, St. Michael’s Cathedral and Zhongshan Road / Dabaodao district. [Attraction intro] Zhanqiao Pier: Official: A landmark of Qingdao’s coast, built in 1892, 440 m long, ending in Huilan Pavilion—ideal for viewing Qingdao Bay, Little Qingdao and the Naval Museum. Personal note: At low tide in the evening you can beach-comb; many seagulls nearby. Avoid holiday crowds by arriving early.

Day 5 Qingdao – Badaguan – Beer Museum – Golden Beach

Morning stroll Badaguan for international architecture; afternoon at Tsingtao Beer Museum with original wort tasting; evening at Golden Beach. [Attraction intro] Badaguan: Official: A famous Qingdao scenic area with eight roads named after Chinese passes and 200+ villas in varied international styles, called a “world architecture expo.” Personal note: Spring and autumn are prettiest; fallen-leaf season is photogenic. Good for walking or cycling; No.2 Bathing Beach is nearby.; Tsingtao Beer Museum: Official: Housed in the original Tsingtao Brewery founded in 1903, showcasing a century of history and brewing, with a tasting of original wort beer. Personal note: Allow about an hour; don’t miss the original wort and beer peanuts. Beer merchandise makes a fun souvenir.
