Day 1: Huangguoshu

Today's theme is Huangguoshu. Avoid peak crowd times and visit the park during off-peak hours, following the recommended route for an in-depth tour. Enjoy local cuisine nearby at noon. In the afternoon, either have free time or join the guide for additional sightseeing. In the evening, return to the hotel for rest.

Attraction introduction: This stop is Huangguoshu. Huangguoshu Waterfall is located in Anshun, Guizhou, and is one of the largest waterfalls in Asia, over a hundred meters wide and nearly seventy meters high. Water plunges straight down with mist rising, roaring like thunder—truly spectacular. Behind the waterfall is the Water Curtain Cave, where you can pass through and view the waterfall from the inside, offering a unique experience. From my understanding, visiting during the high-water season (summer) makes the waterfall most spectacular, but there will be heavy mist and slippery ground. It is recommended to bring a raincoat or waterproof jacket, wear non-slip shoes, and pay attention to your footing.

Tips: The mountain paths are often slippery, especially when going downhill—lean back, slow your steps, and consider knee protection. Visitors generally say the waterfall is magnificent and the Water Curtain Cave offers a unique experience. Note that walking through the Water Curtain Cave may get you wet, and the Lesser Seven Holes area in Libo requires a lot of walking, so wear non-slip shoes. Based on actual conditions, for better photos, go early or late—the morning has fewer people and soft light, golden hour at dusk is also great, while noon light is harsh and crowded, so it’s better to rest then.

Day 2: Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village

Set off in the morning to visit Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, following the main route with a guide to explore all the key points, allowing plenty of time for photos and rest; enjoy a local specialty lunch at noon, continue exploring in the afternoon, and check into the hotel in the evening to recharge for the next day's journey.

Attraction Introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, located in Southeast Guizhou. It is the largest Miao ethnic village in the world, with thousands of stilted buildings built on the mountain in layers. At nightfall, the lights from thousands of homes sparkle like stars, creating a spectacular view. Here, visitors can experience a Miao long-table banquet, silver jewelry, and traditional song and dance, soaking in the rich Miao culture. In my opinion, it is essential to stay overnight to see the night view, as the lights are the soul of Xijiang; the village in the morning with mist weaving through it is also very beautiful, so don’t oversleep.

Tips: Mountain paths have many steps and steep slopes, so be sure to wear non-slip sports shoes. Those with leg or mobility issues are recommended to use the cable car. Visitors generally report that the night view of the luminous village is photogenic; although some say it is commercialized, it remains spectacular. Don’t miss the observation deck, and try the long-table banquet at least once. In practical terms, long trips risk dehydration, so carry a water bottle and drink small amounts frequently. On the first night in the plateau or mountainous areas, avoid washing your hair or showering for too long to allow your body to adjust.

Day 3: Libo

Set off early from the hotel straight to Libo. First, listen to the tour guide's explanation of the background and highlights, then enjoy a leisurely walk at your own pace and take extra photos based on your interests. After lunch, take a short rest, then return to the hotel in the evening to save energy for the next day.

Attraction Introduction: Today's itinerary includes the Libo scenic area. Libo is located in Qiannan, Guizhou, and is famous for Xiaoqikong and Daqikong. The water forest in Xiaoqikong, the 68-step waterfall, Wolong Pond, and other landscapes resemble a fairyland, earning it the title "Green Gem on the Earth's Belt" and it is also a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. The mountains and waters here blend harmoniously, with fresh air, making it the most famous karst landscape in Guizhou. My understanding is that Xiaoqikong requires a lot of walking and its bridges and caves can be slippery, so it's essential to wear non-slip shoes. The scenic area is quite large, so it is advisable to set aside a full day to enjoy it thoroughly.

Tips: The mountains have a large temperature difference between morning and evening, and the peaks are windy, so a windproof jacket and warm inner layers are necessary. Visitors generally remark that the clear water of Xiaoqikong is called the "Green Gem of the Earth," and it is perfect for summer cooling. Note that the walking routes are long, so bring some snacks and water. Considering practical circumstances, be time-conscious: arrive at the meeting point 5 to 10 minutes early. It's better for people to wait for the vehicle than for the vehicle to wait for people; don't make everyone wait for you.

Day 4: Zhenyuan County

Today's theme is Zhenyuan County. To avoid peak crowds, visit the park during off-peak hours and follow the recommended route for an in-depth tour; have a local-style lunch nearby at noon, spend the afternoon on free activities or join the guide for additional sightseeing, and rest at the hotel in the evening.

Attraction Introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Zhenyuan County. Zhenyuan Ancient Town, located in southeastern Guizhou, is traversed by the S-shaped Wuyang River, forming a natural 'Taiji diagram,' and has a history of over two thousand years. The Qinglong Cave ancient building complex, integrating the three religions, hangs on a cliff, and the residential houses with 'crooked doors and strange paths' have a unique charm. In 2020, it was upgraded to a 5A scenic area, representing a tranquil water town in southeastern Guizhou. My understanding is to taste the local specialties before buying and compare prices at multiple shops, avoiding impulsive purchases at the main entrance of the scenic area.

Tips: The ancient town offers a dazzling array of local specialties; taste before buying and compare prices to consume rationally. Tourist feedback shows that most visitors think Zhenyuan County is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down, listen to the guide's explanations, and leave time for the details that touch you the most and the spots with the best photo opportunities. Depending on the situation, when taking photos, don’t just focus on getting good shots; pay attention to your feet and surroundings, and make sure to hold steady at the edges of viewing platforms and walkways.

Day 5: Huangguoshu Great Waterfall

In the morning, gather and set off for Huangguoshu Grand Waterfall. Follow the main route with the guide, visiting all the key spots one by one, leaving ample time for photos and rest. At noon, enjoy local specialty meals, and in the afternoon, continue the exploration. In the evening, check into the hotel to rest and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: This stop is at Huangguoshu Grand Waterfall, Huangguoshu Waterfall located in Anshun, Guizhou. It is one of the largest waterfalls in Asia, over a hundred meters wide and nearly seventy meters high, plunging straight down with mist rising, sounding like thunder, creating a spectacular scene. Behind the waterfall is also a Water Curtain Cave, through which you can pass and view the waterfall from the inside, offering a unique experience. My understanding is that visiting during the high water season (summer) makes the waterfall most magnificent, but the mist is heavy and the ground slippery, so it is recommended to bring a raincoat or waterproof jacket; wear non-slip shoes and watch your step.

Tips: The mountain paths have many steps and steep slopes, so be sure to wear non-slip sports shoes. Those with mobility issues are advised to use the cable car. Visitors generally report that the Grand Waterfall is spectacular and the Water Curtain Cave experience is unique; note that you will get wet in the Water Curtain Cave. Walking at Libo Xiaoqikong involves a lot of steps, so wear non-slip shoes. Depending on the situation, the best times for photos are early morning or late afternoon—fewer people and soft light in the morning, golden light at dusk is ideal, whereas noon has harsh light and is crowded, so resting at that time is more worthwhile.
