Day 1: Huangguoshu

In the morning, gather and depart for Huangguoshu, following the main route with the guide, visiting all the key attractions, leaving ample time for photos and rest; at noon, enjoy a local specialty meal, then continue exploring in the afternoon. In the evening, check into the hotel to rest and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: This stop is at Huangguoshu. Huangguoshu Waterfall is located in Anshun, Guizhou, and is one of the largest waterfalls in Asia, over a hundred meters wide with a drop of nearly seventy meters. The water plunges straight down, mist rises, and the sound is like thunder, making it spectacular. Behind the waterfall, there is also a water curtain cave, which you can pass through to view the waterfall from inside—a unique experience. My suggestion is that the waterfall is most magnificent in the high-water season (summer), but the mist is heavy and the ground is slippery, so it is recommended to bring a raincoat or waterproof jacket, wear non-slip shoes, and watch your step.

Tips: The hiking sections have many steps and steep slopes, so make sure to wear non-slip sports shoes. For those with mobility issues, it is recommended to use the cable car. Visitors generally report that the waterfall is spectacular and the water curtain cave experience is unique; note that you may get wet in the water curtain cave. The Libo Xiaoqikong area involves a lot of walking, so wear non-slip shoes. Based on actual conditions, keep ID cards and wallets separate, and take photos of important documents to store on your phone as a backup, so that you can quickly replace them if lost without affecting your trip.

Day 2: Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village

Depart early from the hotel and head straight to Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village. First, listen to the tour guide explain the background and highlights, then take a leisurely stroll on your own and take extra photos according to your interests. After lunch, rest for a while and return to the hotel in the evening to build up energy for the next day.

Attraction Introduction: One of the main highlights on the itinerary is Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village. Located in southeastern Guizhou, it is the largest Miao ethnic minority settlement in the world. Thousands of stilted houses are built along the mountains, layer upon layer. When night falls, the lights of thousands of households sparkle like stars, creating a magnificent scene. Here, you can experience Miao long table banquets, silver jewelry, and songs and dances, feeling the rich Miao ethnic culture. In my opinion, it is essential to stay overnight to see the night view—the lights are the soul of Xijiang. The village in the early morning is also exceptionally beautiful with mist swirling, so don’t oversleep.

Tips: The temperature difference in the mountains is significant between morning and evening, and it is windy at the mountaintop. A windproof jacket and warm layers are necessary. Visitors generally say that the night view of the thousand-household lights is photogenic. While some mention commercialization, it is still spectacular. Remember to visit the observation deck, and try the long table banquet at least once. Based on practical circumstances, carry some small change and packaged snacks, as the signal in the scenic area may be poor or for emergency supplies; don’t wait until you’re hungry to look for them.

Day 3: Libo

Today's theme is Libo. Avoid peak crowds by visiting the park during off-peak hours, follow the recommended route for an in-depth tour; have a nearby local meal at noon, and enjoy free activities in the afternoon or join the guide for additional sightseeing, then check into a hotel in the evening to rest.

Attraction introduction: Today's itinerary includes sights in Libo, located in Qiannan, Guizhou, famous for the Xiaoqikong and Daqikong scenic spots. Xiaoqikong features a water forest, the 68-step waterfall, Wolong Pond, and other landscapes that resemble a fairyland. It is known as the 'Emerald on the Earth's Belt' and is also a World Natural Heritage site. Here, mountains and waters blend harmoniously, and the air is fresh; it is the most famous karst landscape in Guizhou. My understanding is that Xiaoqikong involves a lot of walking, and the bridges and caves can be slippery, so be sure to wear non-slip shoes; the scenic area is large, so reserve a full day to fully enjoy it.

Tips: Many mountain paths are slippery, especially when going downhill, pay attention to shifting your center of gravity backward and slow your pace; knee pads can be useful. Visitors commonly report that the clear water in Xiaoqikong is called the 'Earth's Green Gem', perfect for escaping the heat. Note that the walking route is long, so bring some snacks and water. Considering the actual situation, mountain weather can change suddenly, so a windproof jacket is more practical than anything else; shoes must be non-slip and comfortable—it's better to take fewer photos than to twist your ankle.

At Libo Xiaoqikong, there is a lot of walking, so wear non-slip shoes. Considering the actual situation, avoid impulsive shopping. When seeing a "limited-time offer," wait three minutes before deciding. If you really want to buy souvenirs, choose reputable stores and keep the receipts for peace of mind.

Day 5: Doupotang Waterfall

Starting early in the morning, we leave the hotel and head straight to Duopotang Waterfall. First, we listen to the tour guide explain the background and highlights, then enjoy a leisurely walk at our own pace and take extra photos at spots that interest us. After lunch, we take a short rest and return to the hotel in the evening to save energy for the next day.

Attraction introduction: This stop is Duopotang Waterfall, which is worth making a special visit on this route. Its unique natural and cultural charm attracts travelers from afar. It is recommended to slow down the pace, follow the guide’s explanations, and leave time for the details that move you most and the best photo spots. In my understanding, the canyon's most beautiful light is in the early morning or after rain, when the mist creates the most layered effect in photos.

Tips: The canyon trail runs along water and cliffs, so do not climb over railings or play in dangerous areas, and supervise accompanying children. Most visitors generally feel that Duopotang Waterfall is worth a special visit. It is recommended to slow down, follow the guide’s explanations, and leave time for the details that move you most and the best photo spots. Based on actual conditions, keep your ID and wallet separate, take photos of important documents as backup on your phone, so that in case something is lost, you can quickly replace it without affecting your trip.
