Day 1: Yellow Crane Tower

Gather in the morning and depart for Yellow Crane Tower. Follow the guide to tour along the main route, visiting all the key spots, allowing plenty of time for photos and rest. At noon, enjoy a local specialty meal, then continue the tour in the afternoon. In the evening, check into the hotel to rest and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Scenic Spot Introduction: Today's itinerary includes Yellow Crane Tower scenic spots. Yellow Crane Tower is located on top of Sheshan Mountain in Wuhan and is one of the three famous towers in Jiangnan. It is renowned worldwide due to Cui Hao's poem 'The departed have ridden the yellow crane' and Li Bai's verse 'An old friend bids farewell to Yellow Crane Tower in the west.' Climbing the tower and looking afar, the Yangtze River and the three towns of Wuhan are all visible, presenting a magnificent view. The current building was rebuilt in 1985, and inside it displays historical relics and literary works. In my opinion, the most striking view is looking down at the Yangtze River Bridge and the city panorama; choosing a sunny day gives a broader view, and the exhibitions inside the tower are also worth browsing slowly.

Friendly Tips: The mountain path has many steps and a steep incline, so be sure to wear non-slip sneakers. For those with mobility issues, it is recommended to take the cable car up and down. Visitors generally feel that most consider Yellow Crane Tower worth a special visit. It is recommended to slow down, follow the guide’s explanations, and leave time for the details that move you the most and the best photo spots. In practice, the worst thing in a group tour is rushing through; listening to the guide’s explanations is the essence, as the cultural stories behind each scenic spot are often more unforgettable than photos. Ask the guide on the spot if something is unclear.

Day 2: Yangtze River Three Gorges

Set off early from the hotel straight to the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. First, listen to the tour guide explain the background and highlights, then take a leisurely stroll at your own pace and take additional photos according to your interests. After lunch, take a short rest, and return to the hotel in the evening to conserve energy for the next day.

Attraction Introduction: This stop is at the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, which consists of Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge, and Xiling Gorge, famous for their grandeur, beauty, and steepness. The Kuimen of Qutang Gorge is featured on the back of the ten-yuan Chinese banknote. The twelve peaks of Wu Gorge and the Goddess Peak inspire imagination, while Xiling Gorge is known for the Three Gorges Dam and the Gezhouba Dam. Cruising through the gorges on a ship, the green mountains on both sides resemble a painting, making it the most classic scenery on the Yangtze River. My understanding is that when taking a cruise to view the Three Gorges, choosing a good deck spot is very important; the river views are most beautiful in the early morning and evening, and be aware that the river wind is strong and the temperature difference is significant between morning and night.

Travel Tips: Canyon trails are by the water and cliffs, so do not climb over guardrails or play in dangerous areas, and keep an eye on accompanying children. Tourists generally report that viewing the gorges from a cruise is the easiest, with Qutang Gorge being the most magnificent. Remember to choose your cabin wisely. Visiting Fengdu Ghost City depends on personal interest. Based on actual circumstances, if you want authentic food, go deeper into the alleys; queues at the main entrance of scenic spots are long and the taste is average. For specialty products, ask the price first and compare; local supermarkets often offer more genuine items.

Day 3: Three Gorges Dam

Today, the focus is on the Three Gorges Dam. To avoid peak crowds, enter the park at off-peak times and follow the recommended route for an in-depth visit; have a nearby local-style lunch at noon, then enjoy free time in the afternoon or join the guide for additional sightseeing, and in the evening check into a hotel to rest.

Attraction Introduction: Today's itinerary includes the Three Gorges Dam, located in Yichang, Hubei. It is the world's largest hydro-engineering project, with a magnificent and imposing dam. The Tanjiling Viewing Platform offers a panoramic view of the dam, the 185 Platform allows for an up-close look at the dam, and the Flood Control Memorial Garden records the construction process. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about China's water engineering. My understanding is to go to Tanjiling for the panoramic view, then visit the 185 Platform to experience the dam's grandeur up close; as the dam is a national key project, following a guide during the visit helps to fully appreciate its significance.

Tips: Signal may be poor within the canyon, so arrange a meeting point with your guide in advance and avoid going alone. Feedback from visitors generally indicates that most believe the Three Gorges Dam is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down, listen to the guide's explanation, and save time for the most touching details and the best photo spots. Depending on your own situation, plan your energy accordingly: tackle the main highlights in the morning when you are fresh, slow down in the afternoon, and avoid exhausting yourself on the first day so you still have energy for the following days.
