Day 1: Shaolin Temple

Gather in the morning and depart for Shaolin Temple, follow the guide to visit key attractions, and allow plenty of time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, check in at the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Shaolin Temple. Shaolin Temple is located at the foot of Wuru Peak on Shaoshi Mountain in Dengfeng. It was first built in the nineteenth year of Taihe of the Northern Wei Dynasty (495 AD). It is both the ancestral home of Chan Buddhism and the birthplace of Shaolin martial arts, with a history of over 1,500 years. The core highlights are concentrated in three places: the main hall is lined with the central axis as the mountain gate, Hall of Heavenly Kings, Mahavira Hall, Sutra Pavilion, and Snow Pavilion, with halls and ancient steles lined up all the way; The Pagoda Forest is the largest existing ancient pagoda complex in China, with over 200 brick and stone tomb pagodas from the Tang and Song to Qing dynasties, each with its own eminent monk; The Bodhidharma Cave on Wuru Peak is said to be where Bodhidharma faced the wall for nine years. The martial arts hall hosts Shaolin martial arts performances at scheduled times every day, showcasing the true skills of boxing, weapons, and hard qigong. My understanding is that before entering the temple, you should first follow the guide along the central axis before freely exploring the area; Please keep quiet and tour the pagoda forest area; Enter the martial arts show fifteen minutes early to secure a good spot.

Friendly reminder: There are many incense stalls around the temple; please buy incense as needed and spend rationally. Visitors generally report that martial arts performances are most popular with families with children, while the pagoda forest and Chuzu Nunnery are often overlooked along the way; Reminder: The scenic area is highly commercialized, so ask about prices for vegetarian and surrounding dining areas. Based on actual conditions, documents and wallets should be kept separately. Important documents can be taken as backups on your phone in case lost, so you can quickly reissue them without delaying your itinerary.

Day 2: Guoliang Village

Gather in the morning and depart for Guoliang Village, follow the guide to visit core attractions, and allow plenty of time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: Today's itinerary includes Guoliang Village attractions. Guoliang Village is hidden deep within the sheer cliffs of the Taihang Mountains and is famous worldwide for its "Cliffside Road"—in the 1970s, villagers worked to open a passage with the outside world without any large machinery, spending over five years chiseling a tunnel about 1,300 meters long on the cliff face, a miracle known as the "Modern Foolish Old Man." This cliff-hanging road is now the most hardcore check-in spot in the Taihang Mountains, offering views of deep abysses and canyon villages along the way. Guoliang Village It is also called the "Chinese Film Village" because many TV dramas have been filmed here. My understanding is that when walking the wall-hanging road, you should allow enough time to watch and take photos while watching, paying attention to your steps and passing vehicles; Early morning or evening is best for lighting; midday is rather plain. Wear non-slip shoes and avoid getting too close to the cliff.

Friendly reminder: The ancient town's stone-paved roads are narrow and slippery, so be sure to wear non-slip flat shoes and be careful to avoid slipping in the morning and evening. Visitors generally report that the cliffside stone village is connected to the cliffside road, and the filming location has its own story. Reminder: Village food and accommodation are simple, so lower expectations and enjoy more. Depending on the situation, bring some change and small snacks. These will be useful when signal is poor or you need to get temporary supplies—don't wait until you're hungry.

Day 3: Wanxian Mountain

Gather in the morning and depart for Wanxian Mountain, follow the guide to visit key attractions, and allow plenty of time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, check in at the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: This stop is Wanxian Mountain. The Wanxian Mountain scenic area is deep in the Taihang Mountains of Huixian, with the Guoliang Cliff Highway and Nanpingdan Branch Valley both within it. The red cliffs intertwine with waterfalls and clear pools, making it one of the most iconic landscape galleries of the Taihang Mountains. This area is famous for filming many TV dramas. Attractions like Guoliang Village, Tianchi, and Fortress form a stunning Taihang hiking route. The summer temperatures are pleasant, making it a place where you can get close to the Taihang mountains and waters just steps 3⟧ and 2⟧. My understanding is that the hike is heavy and there are many steps, so be sure to wear non-slip shoes; Watch out for passing vehicles on the cliff-hanging road section; early morning and evening light makes the red cliffs the best for photos.

Friendly reminder: The temperature difference between morning and evening in mountainous areas is large, and the winds at the summit are strong. A windproof jacket and warm inner layer are very necessary. Visitors generally report that the cliff-hanging road (Guoliang Cave) is the most stunning and photogenic, and mountain roads often cause motion sickness; Reminder: Prepare motion sickness medicine and walk slowly on the viewing platform. Considering actual conditions, mountain weather can change quickly; a windproof jacket is more practical than anything; Always choose shoes that are non-slip and comfortable; if you take fewer photos, don't twist your ankle.

Day 4: Departure

Arrange dedicated transportation to your station or airport according to flight or train time, ending your pleasant journey and returning full of memories.

Friendly reminder: On the return day, luggage is often missed. It's recommended to make a checklist the night before and check each item one by one, and keep your documents and receipts in a separate small bag. Tourists generally report that frequent travelers are advised to plan more relaxed on the return day, preferring to arrive early rather than rush, and travel calmly. Based on actual circumstances, respect local customs, dress appropriately when entering religious venues, and avoid casual advice. A simple greeting can be met with goodwill.
