Day 1: Only Henan

Gather in the morning and depart for Only Henan. Follow the guide to tour the key attractions, allowing ample time for photos and rest. At noon, enjoy local specialty dishes, and in the evening, check into the hotel to recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: This stop is Only Henan. The 'Only Henan·Theatrical Fantasy City' is located in Zhongmu, Zhengzhou. It is a giant drama village built from rammed earth, showcasing the hardships, harvests, and resilience of Central Plains civilization through over twenty theaters and nearly a hundred performances. The main theaters, such as 'Fantasy City,' 'Train Station,' and 'Li Family Village,' are highly acclaimed, while the small theaters each have their unique charm, with the motif of wheat waves running throughout. It is a phenomenal cultural and tourism landmark in Henan. This is not a traditional attraction but an immersive cultural experience. My understanding is that it is essential to reserve a full day, first scheduling the main performances and then fitting in the small theaters. Book tickets in advance through official channels and check the performance timetable, as popular shows often sell out.

Tips: The canyon water path can be slippery, so be sure to wear anti-slip creek shoes or sports shoes and take waterproof measures for phones and other valuables. Visitors generally report that while young people enjoy the immersive experience of Theatrical Fantasy City, tickets are expensive and it is time-consuming. It is recommended to select the core theaters and reserve at least half a day. In practical terms, for long-distance travel, the biggest risk is dehydration—carry a water bottle and sip frequently. When arriving at highlands or mountainous areas, avoid washing your hair or taking long showers on the first night to allow your body to acclimate.

Day 2: Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden

Gather in the morning and depart for Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden, following the tour guide to visit the main attractions, leaving plenty of time for photos and rest; enjoy local specialty dishes for lunch, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: A highlight of the trip is Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden. Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden is located in Kaifeng and is a Song Dynasty cultural theme park built based on Zhang Zeduan's 《Along the River During the Qingming Festival》 from the Northern Song Dynasty. It reproduces the Rainbow Bridge, Bian River, market streets, and taverns from the painting, recreating the bustling city life of the Song capital, Bianliang. The park has live performances and folk parades throughout the day, with the most famous being the nighttime water performance "The Grand Song Dynasty: Dream of Dongjing," which uses light and shadow to revive the grandeur of the Northern Song capital. During the day, you can watch immersive folk performances such as the opening ceremony, Judge Bao welcoming guests, and Mr. Wang's matchmaking. It is also a paradise for Hanfu enthusiasts; wearing a Song-style Hanfu and walking between Rainbow Bridge and Bian River makes every photo a perfect ancient-style shot. My understanding is that upon entering the park, you should first get the show schedule, plan the must-see performances and nighttime shows, and then leisurely explore and eat; visiting the market during the day is most immersive, while the nighttime performance is a visual and auditory feast worth watching if the budget allows.

Tips: Dining prices in the park are relatively high, so it's appropriate to bring water and small snacks and keep your belongings safe. Tourists generally feel that visiting the market during the day is most immersive, while the nighttime show "The Grand Song Dynasty: Dream of Dongjing" receives mixed reviews. Note that show tickets are relatively expensive, so plan according to your budget. Given the actual situation, be time-conscious, arrive five to ten minutes early for gatherings, and always remember: better to have people wait for the vehicle than the vehicle waiting for people, so as not to keep everyone waiting for you.

Day 3: Mount Song

Assemble in the morning and depart for Mount Song. Follow the guide to visit the main attractions, leaving ample time for photos and rest. At noon, enjoy local specialty meals, and in the evening, check into the hotel to rest and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: Today's itinerary includes Mount Song. Mount Song is the Central Mountain among the Five Great Mountains, primarily located in Dengfeng City, divided into the Taishi and Shaoshi mountains, with the main peak, Junji Peak, reaching about 1,492 meters in elevation. Its most unique feature is that Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism have coexisted on the same mountain for a thousand years: Songyang Academy was an important center of Neo-Confucianism during the Song Dynasty, and the famous story of 'Chengmen standing in the snow' is said to have occurred here; Zhongyue Temple is one of the largest and best-preserved temple complexes among the Five Great Mountains; the Astronomical Observatory in Gaocheng Town was built under the supervision of Guo Shoujing during the Yuan Dynasty and is the oldest existing astronomical observation building. In 2010, the 'Center of Heaven and Earth' historical complex, represented by Songyang Academy, Zhongyue Temple, Songyue Temple Pagoda, Shaolin Temple Permanent Residence, Pagoda Forest, Chuzu Monastery, and the Astronomical Observatory, was included in the World Heritage List. My understanding is that on the first day, there’s no need to rush—visit the academy and Zhongyue Temple first to understand the ceremonial logic of the 'Center of Heaven and Earth,' and save your energy for mountain climbing later; if time permits, go to the trail of Sanhuang Fort on Shaoshi Mountain in the evening to watch the sunset—this is the most photogenic part of the whole trip.

Tips: The mountain paths are often slippery, especially when going downhill, so pay attention to shifting your center of gravity backward and slowing your pace; a pair of knee pads is recommended. Tourists generally report that most believe Mount Song is worth a special visit, so it is suggested to slow down, listen to the guide’s explanations, and leave time for the details that move you most and the most photogenic spots. Depending on your circumstances, don’t focus only on taking pictures—pay attention to your footing and surroundings, and be sure to hold steady on viewing platforms and trail edges.
