Day 1: Erlitou

Gather in the morning and depart for Erlitou, follow the guide to visit core attractions, and allow plenty of time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Erlitou. The Erlitou site is located in Luoyang Yanshi and is acclaimed by scholars as the "Earliest China." It is a large capital site from the mid to late Xia Dynasty, unearthing turquoise dragon-shaped artifacts, bronze jue vessels, bronze tripods, and other heavy artifacts, revealing the appearance of China's first royal capital. The turquoise dragon-shaped artifact is made from over 2,000 turquoise shards embedded and is known as the "Number One Dragon of Huaxia," serving as an important testament to Chinese dragon worship. The Erlitou Site Museum presents the archaeological atmosphere and is an unmissable stop for exploring the origins of Chinese civilization. My understanding is that before visiting, one should first understand the academic controversies surrounding the "Xia Capital," then look at the exhibits for a deeper understanding; The museum's exhibits are carefully crafted and worth a leisurely visit.

Friendly reminder: The mountain area has large temperature differences between morning and evening, and the wind at the summit is strong. A windproof jacket and warm inner layer are very necessary. Visitors generally report that Erlitou is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down and follow the guide to listen to the explanations, saving time for the most impressive details and the best camera angles. Based on actual conditions, leave some time for physical activity. Stay alert in the morning for the main event, slow down in the afternoon to avoid overexertion on the first day and fatigue in the following days.

Day 2: Wangcheng Park

Gather in the morning and depart for Wangcheng Park, follow the guide to visit key attractions, and allow enough time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Wangcheng Park. Wangcheng Park is located on Luoyang, named for its location atop the ruins of the Eastern Zhou royal city. It has been one of the main venues for the China Luoyang Peony Culture Festival and is the most familiar city park to Luoyang residents. Every April, famous peonies such as Yao Huang, Wei Purple, and Zhao Pink bloom in a dazzling display of vibrant colors; The park also preserves the ruins of Zhou King's City and a zoo, combining historical heritage with leisure functions, making it a classic spot for visitors to check in at the "Peony Flower City." My understanding is that if you visit during peony season (April), you must make this a must-visit spot. Early mornings with fewer people and peonies with dew are most vibrant; Outside the flowering season, it's more suitable for leisurely walks.

Friendly reminder: Be mindful of the risk of getting separated when visiting the park with kids. Arrange a meeting point in advance and prepare contact information cards for your child. Visitors generally report that most believe Wangcheng Park is worth a special trip. It's recommended to slow down and follow the guide to listen to the explanation, saving time for the most touching details and the best camera angles. Considering the situation, respect local customs, dress appropriately at religious sites, and avoid random advice. A simple greeting can earn goodwill.

Day 3: Mount Song

Gather in the morning and depart for Mount Song, follow the guide to visit key attractions, and allow plenty of time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, check into the hotel at dusk, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: Today's itinerary includes Mount Song Scenic Spot. Mount Song is the Central Peak among the Five Great Mountains, mainly located in Dengfeng City, divided into Taishi and Shaoshi Mountains. The main peak, Junji Peak, rises to about 1492 meters. Its most special feature is that Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism have been closely connected on the same mountain for thousands of years: Songyang Academy was a major center for Neo-Confucian studies in the Song Dynasty, and the famous story 'Standing in Snow at Chengmen' is said to have occurred here; Zhongyue Temple is one of the largest and best-preserved temple complexes among the Five Great Mountains; The Star Observatory in Gaocheng Town was built under the supervision of Guo Shoujing during the Yuan Dynasty and is one of the oldest existing astronomical observation buildings. In 2010, the "Center of Heaven and Earth" historical architectural complex, represented by Songyang Academy, Zhongyue Temple, Songyue Temple Pagoda, Shaolin Temple Regular Residence, Pagoda Forest, First Patriarch's Hermitage, and Star Observation Platform, was inscribed on the World Heritage List. My understanding is that on the first day, there's no need to overindulge—first visit the academy and Zhongyue Temple to understand the ritual system of "Heaven and Earth in the Center," saving the energy for hiking later; If you have extra time, going to the Sanhuangzhai plank road on Shaoshi Mountain in the evening to watch the sunset is the most photogenic part of the entire trip.

Friendly reminder: The climbing section has many steps and steep slopes, so be sure to wear non-slip sports shoes. Those with mobility difficulties are advised to take the cable car up and down. Visitors generally report that Mount Song is worth a special trip. It's recommended to slow down and follow the guide to listen to the explanation, saving time for the most impressive details and the best camera angles. Considering actual circumstances, the biggest fear of group tours is skimming the scenes; listening to the explanations is the essence. The cultural stories behind each attraction are often more memorable than photos. If you encounter something unclear, ask the guide on the spot.
