Day 1: Wangcheng Park

Gather in the morning and depart for Wangcheng Park, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing enough time for taking photos and resting; have a local specialty lunch at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and replenish your energy for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Wangcheng Park. Wangcheng Park is located in Luoyang and is named after its location on the ruins of the Eastern Zhou royal city. It is one of the main venues for the Peony Culture Festival in Luoyang over the years, and also the city park most familiar to the residents of Luoyang. Every April, famous peony varieties such as Yao Huang, Wei Zi, and Zhao Fen bloom in competition, displaying a spectacular array of colors; the park also preserves the ruins of the Zhou royal city and a zoo, combining historical depth with leisure functions. It is a classic spot for tourists to visit the 'Peony Flower City.' In my understanding, if visiting during the peony season (April), this place should definitely be on the must-visit list. Early morning sees fewer people, and the dewy peonies are at their most delicate; off-season, it is more suitable for a leisurely walk.

Tips: When visiting the park with children, be aware of the risk of getting separated, pre-arrange a meeting point, and prepare contact cards for the kids. Visitors generally feedback that most feel Wangcheng Park is worth a dedicated visit. It is recommended to slow down, follow the guide for explanations, and leave time for the details that move you most and for the best photo spots. Considering the practical situation, the biggest risk when joining a tour is a rushed tour; listening to the explanations is the essence. The cultural stories behind each attraction are often more memorable than photos, so ask the guide on the spot if there is anything you do not understand.

Day 2: Jiguan Cave

Gather in the morning and depart for Jiguan Cave, follow the guide to visit key attractions, and allow plenty of time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, then check into the hotel in the evening to recharge and prepare for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: This stop is Jiguan Cave. Jiguan Cave is the karst cave in Luanchuan. Inside, stalactites are varied in countless shapes, with stalagmites, pillars, and flowers illuminating the lights to create stunning colors. The temperature remains pleasant year-round, and the weather is warm in winter and cool in summer. The cave is densely packed with scenic spots, with changing views as you walk. With explanations, you can understand the wonders of geological changes over hundreds of millions of years. It complements Longtan Grand Canyon with a cave and a gorge, making it a classic geological wonder route in western Henan. My understanding is that when entering the cave, remember to follow the guide. The formation and naming of stalactites are quite interesting, and it's easy to miss the highlights when you look at them yourself; The cave floor is slippery and some areas are low, so wear non-slip shoes and watch your head.

Friendly reminder: The climbing section has many steps and steep slopes, so be sure to wear non-slip sports shoes. Those with mobility difficulties are advised to take the cable car up and down. Visitors generally say that Jiguan Cave is worth a special trip. It's recommended to slow down and follow the guide to listen to the explanations, saving time for the most impressive details and the best camera angles. Based on actual conditions, if you want authentic food, head deeper into the alleys. The main entrance of the scenic area has long lines and average taste; Ask about prices before comparing local specialties, and local supermarkets tend to be more authentic.

Day 3: Longmen Grottoes

Assemble in the morning and depart for Longmen Grottoes, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing ample time for taking photos and resting; enjoy a local specialty lunch at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the itinerary of the next day.

Attraction Introduction: Today's itinerary includes Longmen Grottoes attractions. Longmen Grottoes was carved on the cliff walls along the south of the Yi River in Luoyang city. Since Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei moved the capital to Luoyang, its construction continued through the Eastern Wei, Western Wei, Northern Qi, Sui, Tang, and several other dynasties. Currently, there are over 2,300 niches, more than 100,000 statues, and over 2,800 engraved inscriptions and steles. The most astonishing is the Vairocana Buddha of Fengxian Temple, which is over 17 meters tall, with a plump face and compassionate eyes, said to have been modeled after Empress Wu Zetian, representing the pinnacle of Tang dynasty stone carving art. Together with Dunhuang Mogao Caves and Yungang in Datong, it is considered one of China's three great grottoes and is also a World Heritage site. During the visit, walk south along the Yi River trail from the West Mountain Grottoes; Bin Yang's Three Caves, Ten Thousand Buddha Cave, and Lotus Cave each have their own highlights. Cross the bridge to the East Mountain Worship Terrace for a panoramic view. My understanding is, visit the main West Mountain grotto in the morning when it's less crowded to fully appreciate the Buddha, and in the afternoon go to the East Mountain terrace for distant views—the light and angles are best for photography. Walking along both banks of the Yi River involves retracing your steps, so a pair of comfortable shoes will save a lot of effort.

Tips: The grotto attraction area has strong UV rays; on sunny days, bring a sun hat and sunscreen. The visiting route is relatively long, so remember to stay hydrated. According to most visitors' feedback, they find the Vairocana Buddha the most impressive, the West Mountain at sunset provides the best light for photos, and walking along both sides of the Yi River requires retracing your steps. Comfortable shoes and reserving half a day are recommended. Based on actual conditions, allocate your physical energy wisely—explore the highlights in the morning when you're energetic and slow down in the afternoon. Do not overexert on the first day, or you may feel exhausted in the following days.
