Day 1: White Horse Temple

Assemble in the morning and depart for White Horse Temple, following the guide to visit the main attractions, with ample time reserved for taking photos and resting; enjoy local specialty cuisine at noon, and check into the hotel in the evening to recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is White Horse Temple, located in the eastern part of Luoyang City. It was originally built during the Yongping era of the Eastern Han Dynasty to commemorate the White Horse carrying scriptures and the initial transmission of Buddhism to the Central Plains. It is honored as the "First Ancient Temple in China" and is the first state-sponsored temple built after Buddhism was introduced to China. Inside the temple, the Qiyun Pagoda Courtyard, Grand Buddha Hall, and Heavenly King Hall are arranged along the central axis, with incense burning continuously among the red walls and cypress trees for over two thousand years. Notably, the temple also features foreign-style halls donated by countries such as Myanmar, Thailand, and India, presenting a unique landscape of the eastward spread and return flow of Buddhist culture. My understanding is to first visit the main hall along the central axis, then circle around to the Qiyun Pagoda Courtyard, and finally go to the side foreign-style halls to experience the cultural fusion. Visiting in the early morning when fewer people are around, with sunlight on the red walls and ancient cypresses, creates the most poetic atmosphere and allows you to avoid the peak of tour groups.

Warm Tips: Please maintain quiet and dress neatly when entering the temple. Generally, photography is not allowed inside the halls, and ritual instruments should not be touched; donations are voluntary. Visitors generally report that the foreign-style halls (Thai/Myanmar/Indian Courtyards) are very photogenic and feel more spacious than expected. Be aware that the international temple area requires a fair amount of walking, so save some energy. Considering practical circumstances, the worst approach when traveling with a group is to rush through; listening to the guide is the essence. The cultural stories behind each attraction are often more memorable than the photos, so ask the guide on the spot if there is anything you do not understand.

Day 2: Wangcheng Park

Assemble in the morning and depart for Wangcheng Park, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing ample time for taking photos and resting; enjoy a local specialty lunch at noon, and check in to the hotel in the evening to rest and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: One of the highlights arranged in the itinerary is Wangcheng Park. Wangcheng Park is located in Luoyang, named because it is situated on the ruins of the Eastern Zhou Royal City. It has been one of the main venues for the Chinese Luoyang Peony Culture Festival over the years and is also the most well-known city park for the citizens of Luoyang. Every April, famous peony varieties like Yao Huang, Wei Zi, and Zhao Fen bloom in competition, creating a spectacular display of colorful flowers; the park also preserves the Zhou Royal City ruins and a zoo, combining historical depth with recreational functions, making it a classic destination for visitors to check out the "Peony Flower City." In my understanding, if you visit during the peony season (April), you must include this place as a must-see. Early morning sees fewer people, and the peonies are most delicate with the dew; outside the blooming season, it is more suitable for a leisurely walk.

Kind Reminder: Food and drinks inside the park are relatively expensive, so it is advisable to bring water and snacks, and keep personal belongings safe. Visitors generally report that most of them think Wangcheng Park is worth visiting specifically; it is recommended to slow down, follow the guide's explanations, and leave time for the details and photo spots that impress you most. Considering the actual situation, for the most authentic food, head into the deeper alleys, as the queues at the main entrance are long and the taste is average; for local specialties, ask the price first and compare, as local supermarkets are often more reliable.

Day 3: Yuntai Mountain

Assemble in the morning and depart for Yuntai Mountain. Follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, leaving plenty of time for photos and rest; enjoy local specialty lunch at noon, and check in to the hotel in the evening to recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: Today's itinerary includes Yuntai Mountain attractions. Yuntai Mountain is located in Jiaozuo Xiuwu and is one of the first world geological parks, famous for the red cliffs and green waters of Hongshi Gorge, the waterfalls and streams of Tanpu Gorge, the 'Highest Waterfall in Asia' Yuntai Sky Waterfall in Quanpu Gorge, and the sea of clouds sunrise at Zhuyu Peak. It is the most representative landscape of the southern Taihang Mountains. Hongshi Gorge is the essence of the essence: a two-kilometer-long red quartz sandstone canyon, with winding blue waters at the valley bottom and reddish cliff walls like sunset; Zhuyu Peak is famous due to a poem by Tang Dynasty poet Wang Wei, 'Everywhere chrysanthemums are planted, one person is missing.' Taking the cable car to the top allows a panoramic view of the Taihang peaks. Shuttle buses connect the points within the scenic area, and the trails are gentle, suitable for family trips. My understanding is that if one day is not enough, prioritize the core areas of Hongshi Gorge and Monkey Valley, and allow enough time for shuttle bus queues; summer is cool and suitable for water activities, and autumn is beautiful with colorful forests, each season offers its own charm.

Kind Reminder: The mountain paths are often slippery, especially going downhill, so keep your center of gravity back and slow down; knee pads can be prepared. Visitors generally report that Hongshi Gorge is recognized as the most photogenic section, and the sea of clouds at Zhuyu Peak is also worthwhile; note that shuttle bus lines are long, so if you can't see everything in one day, prioritize Hongshi Gorge and Monkey Valley. Based on actual circumstances, allocate your energy with some reserve—tackle the main highlights in the morning when you are fresh, slow down in the afternoon, and avoid overexertion on the first day, or you'll be too tired for the following days.
