Day 1: Sui-Tang Luoyang City

In the morning, gather and set off for Sui-Tang Luoyang City, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing plenty of time for taking photos and resting; at noon, enjoy a local specialty meal, and in the evening, check into the hotel to recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: Today's itinerary includes Sui-Tang Luoyang City attractions. Sui-Tang Luoyang City National Heritage Park centers around Yingtian Gate, Mingtang, and Tiantang, restoring the palace grandeur of the Tang Dynasty 'Divine Capital' Luoyang. Yingtian Gate is the south main gate of Sui-Tang Luoyang City, magnificent in scale; climbing it offers a view of the central axis, and at night there is a stunning light show. Mingtang was the 'Ten Thousand Phenomena Divine Palace' during Empress Wu Zetian's time, while Tiantang is a tall tower for Buddhist rituals. The interiors of both buildings restore the splendid furnishings of the Tang court. Walking along Jiuzhou Pool is also pleasant, evoking the grandeur of the royal gardens of the past. This place is closely associated with TV series such as 'Wu Zetian' and 'The Wind Rises in Luoyang' and has become one of the most popular Tang culture check-in spots in Luoyang recent years. My advice is to be sure to visit at night—the lights of Yingtian Gate and Mingtang Tiantang when the lamps come on are how the 'Divine Capital' should look; see the palace furnishings by day, and enjoy the light show at night—two experiences in one day.

Tips: Ancient capital attractions are spread out, with a lot of walking and transfers, so it is recommended to wear comfortable flat shoes and plan your route well. Visitor feedback shows that most tourists believe Sui-Tang Luoyang City is worth a special trip, so it is advised to slow down, follow the guide for explanations, and give time to the details that move you most and the best photo spots. In practice, with group tours the worst thing is rushing through; listening to the guide is the essence. The cultural stories behind each attraction are often more memorable than the photos. If you don't understand something, ask the guide on the spot.

Day 2: Jiguan Cave

Gather in the morning and depart for Jiguan Cave, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, and allow plenty of time for photography and rest; at noon, enjoy local specialty meals, and in the evening, check into the hotel to recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: On this stop, we arrive at Jiguan Cave. Jiguan Cave is a karst cave in Luanchuan. Inside the cave, the stalactites take on various shapes. Stalagmites, stone pillars, and stone flowers transform into splendid colors under the lights. The cave maintains a constant temperature all year round, warm in winter and cool in summer. Attractions inside the cave are dense, and as you move, the scenery changes; with the guide's explanation, you can understand the marvelous craftsmanship of geological changes over hundreds of millions of years. It and Longtan Grand Canyon, one cave and one gorge, complement each other and are a classic geological wonder route in western Henan. My understanding is that when entering the cave, remember to follow the guide. The formation and naming of the stalactites are very interesting, and it’s easy to miss highlights if you go alone; the cave floor is slippery and some areas are low, so wear non-slip shoes and watch your head.

Warm Tips: There is a large temperature difference between morning and evening in the mountains, and the wind is strong at the summit, so a windproof jacket and warm inner layers are necessary. Tourists generally report that most visitors think Jiguan Cave is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down, listen to the guide's commentary, and leave time for the details that touch you the most and the best photo spots. Depending on your situation, if you want authentic food, go deeper into the alleys; the queues at the main entrance of the scenic area are long, and the taste is average. For local specialties, ask the price first and compare; local supermarkets often have more genuine products.

Day 3: Taihang Grand Canyon

Assemble in the morning and depart for Taihang Grand Canyon. Follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing plenty of time for photos and rest; enjoy a local specialty lunch at noon, and check into the hotel in the evening to recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: This stop is at Taihang Grand Canyon. Taihang Grand Canyon spans the junction of Shanxi, Hebei, and Henan provinces. Red Flag Canal passes through the mountains. Peach Blossom Valley, Wang Xiang Rock, and Taihang Sky Road connect grandeur with beauty, showcasing the scenery of Taihang Mountains. Peach Blossom Valley is known for its waterfalls and flowing springs, Wang Xiang Rock is famous for its cliffside walkways, and Taihang Sky Road allows sightseeing buses to take in panoramic views of the canyon. In spring, the mountains are full of blossoms; in autumn, the forests are colorful—each season offers its highlights. In my understanding, the scenic area is large and attractions are spread out, so it’s essential to plan your route and prioritize the main spots; hold onto the railings in dangerous sections, and those afraid of heights should act according to their capacity.

Friendly reminder: Signal may be poor inside the canyon, so agree with the tour guide on meeting points in advance; do not go alone. Tourists generally report that Peach Blossom Valley’s water scenery is quiet and serene, and Taihang Sky Road is steep, with a view at every step. Be sure to take the sightseeing bus, as weather greatly affects the experience. Based on actual conditions, pace yourself; focus on the key highlights in the morning when your energy is high, and slow down in the afternoon. Don’t exhaust yourself on the first day, or you will have no energy for the following days.
