Day 1: White Horse Temple

Assemble in the morning and depart for White Horse Temple, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing ample time for taking photos and resting; at noon, enjoy local specialty meals, and in the evening, check into the hotel to recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is White Horse Temple. White Horse Temple is located in the eastern part of Luoyang city. It was originally built during the Yongping period of the Eastern Han Dynasty to commemorate the White Horse Carrying Scriptures and the early spread of Buddhism in China. It is revered as 'China's First Ancient Temple' and is the first government-built temple after Buddhism was introduced to China. Inside the temple, the Qiyun Pagoda Courtyard, the Great Buddha Hall, and the Hall of Heavenly Kings are arranged along the central axis, with incense continuing for over two thousand years among the red walls and green cypress trees. Notably, the temple also has foreign-style Buddhist halls donated by countries such as Myanmar, Thailand, and India, showcasing the unique scenery of Buddhism's eastward transmission and return. My understanding is to first visit the main halls along the central axis, then circle to the Qiyun Pagoda Courtyard, and finally go to the side halls with foreign styles to experience the cultural fusion; visiting early in the morning when there are fewer people allows the morning light to fall on the red walls and ancient cypresses, creating the best atmosphere, and also avoids peak times for tour groups.

Tips: There are many incense stalls around the temple, so purchase only what you need and spend rationally. Visitors generally report that the foreign-style Buddhist halls (Thai, Burmese, Indian courtyards) are highly photogenic, with more spaciousness than expected; note that the international temple area requires quite a bit of walking, so save some energy. Based on the actual situation, avoid impulsive shopping—if you see a 'limited-time offer,' take three minutes to calm down; if you really want to buy souvenirs, make sure to purchase from legitimate stores and keep receipts for peace of mind.

Day 2: Longmen Grottoes

Gather in the morning and depart for Longmen Grottoes, follow the guide to visit the main attractions, leaving ample time for taking photos and resting; enjoy local specialty cuisine at noon, and check in at the hotel in the evening to recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: Today's itinerary includes the Longmen Grottoes attraction, Longmen Grottoes was carved on the cliff walls along the southern banks of the Yi River in Luoyang city, and construction continued since Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei moved the capital to Luoyang, spanning the Eastern Wei, Western Wei, Northern Qi, Sui, Tang, and other dynasties. Currently, there are more than 2,300 grottoes, over 100,000 statues, and more than 2,800 engraved inscriptions. The most spectacular is the Vairocana Buddha in Fengxian Temple, over seventeen meters tall, with a full face and compassionate eyes, said to have been carved in the likeness of Empress Wu Zetian, representing the pinnacle of Tang Dynasty stone carving art. Together with Dunhuang Mogao Caves and Datong Yungang, it is considered one of China's three major grottoes and a World Cultural Heritage site. When visiting, walk south along the Yi River trail from the West Mountain Grottoes; there are highlights at Binyang Three Caves, Ten Thousand Buddhas Cave, and Lotus Cave. Cross to the East Mountain Buddha Terrace for a panoramic view. My suggestion is to see the main grottoes of the West Mountain in the morning when there are fewer people to fully appreciate the Buddha, and visit the East Mountain Terrace in the afternoon for distant views, as the light and angles are best for photos; walking along both banks of the Yi River requires backtracking, so a comfortable pair of shoes will save a lot of effort.

Tips: Visiting the grottoes involves walking and stairs, so it's recommended to wear non-slip comfortable shoes and travel light. Pay attention to your footing along both banks of the Yi River. Most tourists generally report that the Vairocana Buddha is the most impressive, and the sunset at West Mountain provides the best photo lighting; walking along both banks requires backtracking, so wear comfortable shoes and reserve half a day. Based on the situation, keep your documents and wallet separately, take photos of important documents and save them on your phone as a backup, so in case of loss, you can quickly replace them without delaying your trip.

Day 3: Only Henan

Assemble in the morning and depart for Only Henan, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing plenty of time for taking photos and resting; have a local specialty meal at noon, and check into the hotel in the evening to recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: This stop is Only Henan. 'Only Henan · Drama Fantasy City' is located in Zhongmu, Zhengzhou. It is a large theatrical settlement built with loess, showcasing the hardships, harvest, and resilience of Central Plains civilization through more than twenty theaters and nearly a hundred performances. The main theaters' large productions such as 'Fantasy City', 'Train Station', and 'Li Family Village' have excellent reputations, while the small theaters each possess unique creativity, with the imagery of wheat waves running throughout, making it a phenomenal cultural tourism landmark of Henan. This is not a traditional tourist spot, but an immersive cultural experience. My understanding is that you should reserve a full day, schedule the main theater performances first, then intersperse visits to the small theaters; book tickets in advance through official channels and check the show schedule carefully, as popular performances often sell out.

Friendly Tips: The canyon trail is adjacent to water and cliffs, so do not climb over the railings or play in dangerous areas, and keep an eye on children. Visitors generally comment that the immersive experience of Drama Fantasy City appeals to young people but is expensive and time-consuming; it is recommended to focus on the main theaters and reserve at least half a day. Depending on your situation, carry some small change and snack packs for times when signals are weak or supplies are unavailable—do not wait until you are hungry to look for them.
