Day 1: Sui-Tang Luoyang City

Assemble in the morning and depart for Sui-Tang Luoyang City. Follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, leaving ample time for photos and rest. At noon, enjoy a local specialty meal, and in the evening, check into the hotel to recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: Today's itinerary includes Sui-Tang Luoyang City attractions. Sui-Tang Luoyang City National Heritage Park centers around Yingtian Gate, Mingtang, and Tiantang, restoring the palace grandeur of the prosperous Tang Dynasty 'Divine Capital' Luoyang. Yingtian Gate is the main southern gate of Sui-Tang Luoyang City, majestic in scale; climbing the tower allows a view down the central axis, and at night there is a stunning light show. Mingtang was the 'Palace of Myriad Phenomena' during Empress Wu Zetian's era, while Tiantang is a tall tower for Buddhist rituals. The interiors of both buildings recreate the luxurious furnishings of a Tang Dynasty court. Strolling by Jiuzhou Pool is also pleasant, evoking the grandeur of the former imperial gardens. This site is closely related to TV series such as 'Wu Zetian' and 'Feng QiLuoyang,' and has been one of the most popular Tang culture spots in Luoyang in recent years. In my opinion, a night tour is essential—the lights of Yingtian Gate and Mingtang-Tiantang at dusk truly show the 'Divine Capital.' See the palace interiors by day and enjoy the light show by night for two distinct experiences in one day.

Tips: The ancient capital attractions are widely spread out, requiring significant walking and transfers. It is recommended to wear comfortable flat shoes and plan your route carefully. Visitors generally report that most believe Sui-Tang Luoyang City is worth a special visit, so it is advised to slow down, follow the guide's commentary, and leave time for the details that move you most and for the best photo opportunities. In practice, for authentic food, venture deep into side alleys; the queues at the main entrance of the scenic area are long, and the taste is often ordinary. For souvenirs, compare prices before buying; local supermarkets often offer more reliable options.

Day 2: Chongdugou

Gather in the morning and depart for Chongdugou. Follow the guide to visit the main attractions, leaving plenty of time for taking photos and resting. Enjoy a local specialty meal at noon, and in the evening check into the hotel to recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: Today's itinerary includes Chongdugou attractions. Chongdugou is located in Luanchuan and is known for its vast bamboo groves, cascading waterfalls, and Henan western rural farming charm. It is a rare 'Jiangnan water town'-style summer retreat and leisure destination in Henan. The scenic area is divided into two sections: Jinji River and Dicui River. Jinji River is famous for its waterfalls, with splashing water and a cool, refreshing atmosphere; Dicui River features contiguous bamboo groves, offering a green view all around when strolling through it. Here, you can stay in farmhouse accommodations, taste wild vegetables, and experience authentic rural life in western Henan, with a leisurely pace. It is especially suitable for family slow travel and summer vacation. My understanding is to slow down the pace and not rush to visit the attractions—walking in the bamboo forest or sitting by the stream is the proper way to enjoy Chongdugou; visiting in summer is most comfortable, with a coolness that makes you not want to leave.

Tips: The canyon trail runs along water and cliffs. Do not climb over railings or play in dangerous areas, and keep an eye on children accompanying you. Visitors generally report that most think Chongdugou is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down, follow the guide’s explanations, and leave time for the details that move you the most and the best photo spots. Based on actual conditions, reserve your energy. Tackle the major highlights in the morning when you are fresh, and slow down in the afternoon. Don’t use up all your energy on the first day, or you won’t have any for the following days.

Day 3: Mount Song

Assemble in the morning and depart for Mount Song. Follow the guide to visit the main attractions, leaving ample time for photos and rest. At noon, enjoy local specialty meals, and in the evening, check into the hotel to rest and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: Today's itinerary includes Mount Song. Mount Song is the Central Mountain among the Five Great Mountains, primarily located in Dengfeng City, divided into Taishi and Shaoshi Mountains, with the main peak, Junji Peak, reaching an altitude of approximately 1,492 meters. Its most unique feature is that Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism have coexisted on the same mountain for a thousand years: Songyang Academy was a major center of Neo-Confucianism during the Song Dynasty, and the famous story of "Chengmen Lixue" took place here; Zhongyue Temple is one of the largest and best-preserved temple complexes among the Five Great Mountains; and the Observing Star Tower in Gaocheng Town, built under the supervision of Guo Shoujing in the Yuan Dynasty, is the oldest existing astronomical observation building. In 2010, the "Center of Heaven and Earth" historical architectural complex, represented by Songyang Academy, Zhongyue Temple, Songyue Pagoda, Shaolin Temple Permanent Residence, Pagoda Forest, Chuzu Temple, and the Observing Star Tower, was inscribed on the World Heritage List. My understanding is that on the first day, there is no need to try to see everything—first visit the academy and Zhongyue Temple to understand the ceremonial logic of the "Center of Heaven and Earth," and save your energy for climbing the mountains later; if time permits, go in the evening to the plank walk at Sanhuang Fortress on Shaoshi Mountain to watch the sunset—it is the most photogenic part of the trip.

Tips: The mountain paths are often slippery, especially when going downhill, so pay attention to shifting your center of gravity backward and slowing your pace; a pair of knee pads is recommended. Tourists generally report that most believe Mount Song is worth a special visit, and it is recommended to slow down, listen to the guide’s explanations, and leave time for the details that move you most and the most photogenic spots. Respect the local customs according to the situation, dress appropriately when entering religious sites, and avoid pointing around casually; a simple greeting can bring kindness.
