Day 1: Wangcheng Park

Gather in the morning and depart for Wangcheng Park, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing ample time for photos and rest; enjoy local specialty dishes at noon, check in at the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Wangcheng Park. Wangcheng Park is located in Luoyang and is named for being situated on the ruins of the Eastern Zhou royal city. It is one of the main venues for China's Luoyang Peony Culture Festival and is also the most familiar city park to the citizens of Luoyang. Every April, famous peonies such as Yao Huang, Wei Zi, and Zhao Fen bloom in competition, displaying a spectacular array of colors; the park also preserves the ruins of the Zhou royal city and a zoo, combining historical significance with leisure functions. It is a classic destination for visitors to check out the "City of Peonies." In my understanding, if visiting during the peony season (April), this should be a must-visit location; in the early morning, when there are fewer people, the peonies with dew are most delicate; outside the bloom season, it is more suitable for a leisurely walk.

Tips: Dining prices inside the park are relatively high, so it is advisable to bring water and small snacks and to take care of your belongings. Tourists generally feedback that most consider Wangcheng Park worth a special visit. It is recommended to slow down, follow the guide's explanations, and leave time for the details that move you the most and the best photo spots. Considering the actual situation, the biggest pitfall of group tours is rushing through; listening to the guide is the essence. The cultural stories behind each attraction are often more memorable than photos, and any questions should be asked to the guide on the spot.

Day 2: Chongdugou

Assemble in the morning and set off for Chongdugou, follow the guide to visit the main attractions, allowing ample time for taking photos and resting; enjoy local specialty cuisine at noon, check in to the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: Today's itinerary includes Chongdugou attractions. Chongdugou is located in Luanchuan and is renowned for its vast bamboo forests, cascading waterfalls, streams, and the agricultural scenery of western Henan. It is one of the few 'Jiangnan water town'-style summer resorts in Henan. The scenic area is divided into two zones: Jinjih River and Dicui River. Jinjih River is famous for its waterfalls, with splashing water and a refreshing atmosphere; Dicui River features continuous bamboo forests, where walking among them offers lush greenery all around. Here, visitors can stay in farmhouse accommodations, try wild mountain vegetables, and experience the authentic life of western Henan villages at a leisurely pace, making it particularly suitable for family slow travel and summer vacations. My understanding is to slow down and not rush through the attractions—walking in the bamboo forest or sitting by the stream is the proper way to enjoy Chongdugou; visiting in summer is the most comfortable, as it is cool enough to not want to leave.

Friendly Tips: Signal may be poor inside the canyon, so arrange meeting points with your guide in advance and do not act alone. Visitors generally report that most believe Chongdugou is worth visiting specifically; it is recommended to slow down, follow the guide's explanations, and leave time for the details and photo spots that impress you most. Practically, if you want the most authentic food, head into the deeper alleys, as the queues at the main entrance tend to be long and the taste average; for souvenirs, ask the price first and compare, as local supermarkets often offer more authentic products.

Day 3: White Horse Temple

Gather in the morning and depart for White Horse Temple. Follow the guide to visit the main attractions, leaving plenty of time for photos and rest; enjoy local specialty cuisine at noon, and check into the hotel in the evening to recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: A highlight of the trip is White Horse Temple. White Horse Temple is located in the eastern part of Luoyang City. It was originally built during the Yongping era of the Eastern Han Dynasty to commemorate the White Horse carrying scriptures and the initial transmission of Buddhism to the Central Plains. It is honored as the 'First Ancient Temple in China' and is the first state-established temple after Buddhism was introduced to China. Inside the temple, Qi Yun Tower Courtyard, the Great Buddha Hall, and the Hall of Heavenly Kings are arranged along the central axis, with incense burning continuously for over two thousand years among the red walls and green cypresses. Notably, the temple also features foreign-style halls donated by countries such as Myanmar, Thailand, and India, presenting a unique landscape of the eastward spread and return flow of Buddhist culture. My understanding is to first visit the main hall along the central axis, then circle around to Qi Yun Tower Courtyard, and finally go to the foreign-style halls on both sides to experience cultural integration; visiting in the early morning when there are fewer people, with morning light falling on the red walls and ancient cypresses, is the most atmospheric and also allows you to avoid the peak of tour groups.

Tips: Please maintain silence and dress neatly when entering the temple. Generally, photos are not taken inside the halls, and religious implements should not be touched; contribute as you wish. Visitors typically report that the foreign-style halls (Thai/Myanmar/Indian courtyard) are highly photogenic and often feel more spacious than expected; note that the international temple area requires a fair amount of walking, so save some energy. Based on actual circumstances, allocate your stamina wisely: tackle the major attractions in the morning when you are fresh and slow down in the afternoon; don’t exhaust yourself on the first day, or you will have no energy for the following days.
