Day 1: Erlitou

Gather in the morning and depart for Erlitou, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing plenty of time for photos and rest; enjoy a local specialty meal at noon, check in at the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Erlitou. The Erlitou site is located in Yanshi, Luoyang, and is acclaimed by scholars as 'the earliest China.' It is a large urban site from the mid-to-late Xia Dynasty, and artifacts such as turquoise dragon-shaped objects, bronze jue, and bronze ding have been unearthed, revealing the appearance of the first capital of the Hua Xia civilization. The turquoise dragon-shaped object is inlaid with over two thousand turquoise pieces and is known as 'the First Dragon of China,' serving as important evidence of dragon worship in China. The Erlitou Site Museum presents the archaeological site vividly and is an indispensable stop for studying the origins of Chinese civilization. In my understanding, having a preliminary understanding of the academic controversies around the 'Xia Capital' before viewing the exhibits will provide deeper insight; the museum's exhibition is carefully curated and worth seeing slowly.

Tips: Many mountain roads are slippery, especially when going downhill, be sure to shift your center of gravity backward and slow your pace; you may want to bring knee guards. Feedback from tourists generally indicates that most visitors think Erlitou is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down, listen to the guide's explanations, and leave time for the details that move you most and the best photo spots. Depending on the actual situation, for better photos, aim for early morning or late afternoon—fewer people and soft light in the morning, golden glow at dusk, while noon light is harsh and crowded, so it is more worthwhile to use that time for rest.

Day 2: Baiyun Mountain

Gather in the morning and depart for Baiyun Mountain, follow the tour guide to visit the key attractions, leaving ample time for taking photos and resting; enjoy local specialty cuisine at noon, check in to the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's schedule.

Attraction Introduction: Today’s itinerary includes Baiyun Mountain attractions. Baiyun Mountain is located in the heart of Funiu Mountain in Song County. Yuhuang Peak offers views of the sunrise over the sea of clouds. With high forest coverage and abundant negative oxygen ions, it is a natural large oxygen bar. Within the scenic area, Jiulong Waterfall and the Alpine Peony Garden each have their own features. It is one of the few high-altitude resort scenic areas suitable for summer cooling and autumn leaf viewing. Cable cars or scenic shuttle buses can connect the spots. The mountaintop has broad views, shrouded in mist, resembling a fairyland. My understanding is that visiting in summer for a cool retreat is most worthwhile; the coolness in the mountains contrasts sharply with the heat in the city. Getting up early to climb Yuhuang Peak to see the sunrise over the sea of clouds requires some luck, but even if you don’t catch the sunrise, the morning mist over the mountains is beautiful enough.

Warm Tips: Mountain trails have many steps and steep slopes, so be sure to wear anti-slip sports shoes. Those with mobility issues are advised to use the cable car. Feedback from visitors generally indicates that most tourists think Baiyun Mountain is worth a dedicated visit. It is recommended to slow down, listen to the guide’s explanations, and reserve time for the details that touch you most and the best photo spots. Considering practical circumstances, the biggest concern on long trips is dehydration, so carry a water bottle and drink small amounts frequently. On the first night at high altitudes or in mountainous areas, avoid lengthy hair washing or bathing to allow your body some time to adjust.

Day 3: Wangcheng Park

Assemble in the morning and depart for Wangcheng Park. Follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing ample time for photography and rest; enjoy a local specialty lunch at noon, and check into the hotel in the evening to recharge for the next day’s itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: One highlight arranged in the itinerary is Wangcheng Park. Wangcheng Park is located in Luoyang. It is named after its location on the ruins of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty royal city. It has been one of the main venues for consecutive Chinese Luoyang Peony Festivals and is also the city park most familiar to Luoyang citizens. Every April, famous peony varieties such as Yao Huang, Wei Zi, and Zhao Fen bloom in competition, creating a spectacular display of colors. The park also preserves the Zhou Royal City Ruins and has a zoo, combining historical heritage with recreational functions, making it a classic spot for tourists visiting the 'Peony Flower City.' My understanding is that if visiting during peony season (April), this place must be included as a must-go destination. In the early morning, when there are fewer people, the dew-covered peonies are at their most delicate. Outside the blooming season, the park is more suitable for a leisurely stroll.

Tips: Dining prices inside the park are relatively high, so it is advisable to bring water and light snacks and take care of your personal belongings. Visitors generally report that most tourists think Wangcheng Park is worth a dedicated trip. It is recommended to slow down, listen to the guide’s explanations, and leave time for the details that touch you most and the best photo spots. Considering the actual situation, punctuality is important. Arrive at the assembly point five to ten minutes in advance. It is better for people to wait for the vehicle than for the vehicle to wait for people—don’t make everyone wait for you.
