Day 1: White Horse Temple

Gather in the morning and depart for White Horse Temple, follow the guide to visit core attractions, and allow plenty of time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: One highlight of the itinerary is White Horse Temple, located east of Luoyang city. It was first built during the Yongping era of the Eastern Han Dynasty to commemorate the White Horse Carrying Scriptures and the early introduction of Buddhism to the Central Plains. It is honored as "China's First Ancient Temple" and the first government-run temple built after Buddhism was introduced to China. Inside the temple, the Qiyun Pagoda Courtyard, the Great Buddha Hall, and the Heavenly King Hall are arranged along the central axis, with red walls and green cypress trees where incense offerings have continued for over two thousand years. It is worth mentioning that the temple also features exotic-style Buddhist halls donated by countries such as Myanmar, Thailand, and India, showcasing the unique landscape of Buddhist culture flowing eastward and backward. My understanding is that when entering the temple, first see the main hall along the central axis, then circle around to the Qiyun Pagoda Courtyard, and finally visit the foreign Buddhist halls on both sides to experience cultural fusion; Come early in the morning when there are fewer people; the sunlight shining on the red walls and ancient cypress trees creates the most poetic atmosphere, and you can also avoid the peak of tour groups.

Friendly reminder: Please keep quiet and dress neatly when entering the temple. Generally, no photos or touching ritual objects are allowed inside the temple. Celebrate the merit. Visitors generally report that the foreign style Buddhist halls (Thai/Burmese/Seal Temple) are popular in photos, and visitors generally feel they are more spacious than expected; Reminder: The international temple area is quite far to walk, so leave some room for your feet. Considering actual conditions, mountain weather can change quickly; a windproof jacket is more practical than anything; Be sure to choose non-slip and comfortable shoes; if you take fewer photos, don't sprain your ankle.

Day 2: Laojun Mountain

Gather in the morning and depart for Laojun Mountain, follow the guide to visit core attractions, and allow enough time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, check into the hotel in the evening to recharge and prepare for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: Today's itinerary includes Laojun Mountain attractions, located in Luanchuan County, Luoyang, the main peak of Funiu Mountain and a famous Taoist mountain, said to be the place where Laozi, the founder of Taoism, retired for cultivation. The Golden Summit Taoist temple complex stands atop a peak over 2,000 meters above sea level, with golden tiles and red walls and surging clouds, earning it the reputation of "traveling far to witness the world's grandeur." The Ten-Mile Painted Screen is the highlight of the entire trip: a high-altitude plank road suspended on a sheer cliff changes views with every step, offering views of peaks, forests, sea of clouds, and sunrise. You can take a two-level cable car up the mountain; on sunny days, you can watch the sea of clouds and sunrise from the summit, while in winter, it is a highly popular snow-viewing spot in the Central Plains. My understanding is: be sure to take the cable car up the mountain early to seize the golden summit and the beautiful scenery of the Ten-Mile Painting Screen; At the summit, the wind is strong and the temperature low; a windbreaker and thermos bottle are standard, and the glass observation deck is a must-have.

Friendly reminder: The mountain area has large temperature differences between morning and evening, and the wind at the summit is strong. A windproof jacket and warm inner layer are very necessary. Visitors generally report that the sea of clouds and sunrise at the Golden Summit are recognized as the main highlights, and many people stay at the summit waiting for dawn; Reminder: The large temperature difference at the summit and long cable car queues mean that during peak season, be sure to arrive early. Based on actual conditions, don't shop impulsively; if you see a "limited-time offer," take a three-minute coolhead; If you really want to bring souvenirs, make sure to buy a reputable store and keep your receipt for peace of mind.

Day 3: Mount Song

Gather in the morning and depart for Mount Song, follow the guide to visit core attractions, and allow plenty of time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: Today's itinerary includes Mount Song Scenic Spot. Mount Song is the Central Peak among the Five Great Mountains, mainly located in Dengfeng City, divided into Taishi and Shaoshi Mountains. The main peak, Junji Peak, rises to about 1492 meters. Its most special feature is that Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism have been closely connected on the same mountain for thousands of years: Songyang Academy was a major center for Neo-Confucian studies in the Song Dynasty, and the famous story 'Standing in Snow at Chengmen' is said to have occurred here; Zhongyue Temple is one of the largest and best-preserved temple complexes among the Five Great Mountains; The Star Observatory in Gaocheng Town was built under the supervision of Guo Shoujing during the Yuan Dynasty and is one of the oldest existing astronomical observation buildings. In 2010, the "Center of Heaven and Earth" historical architectural complex, represented by Songyang Academy, Zhongyue Temple, Songyue Temple Pagoda, Shaolin Temple Regular Residence, Pagoda Forest, First Patriarch's Hermitage, and Star Observation Platform, was inscribed on the World Heritage List. My understanding is that on the first day, there's no need to overindulge—first visit the academy and Zhongyue Temple to understand the ritual system of "Heaven and Earth in the Center," saving the energy for hiking later; If you have extra time, going to the Sanhuangzhai plank road on Shaoshi Mountain in the evening to watch the sunset is the most photogenic part of the entire trip.

Friendly reminder: The mountain roads are slippery, so be sure to shift your center of gravity and slow down downhill. You may need a pair of knee pads. Visitors generally report that Mount Song is worth a special trip. It's recommended to slow down and follow the guide to listen to the explanations, saving time for the most impressive details and the best camera spots. Depending on the situation, keep your ID and wallet separate. Take photos of important documents and keep them on your phone for backup. If lost, you can quickly reissue them without delaying your trip.
