Day 1: Chongdugou

Gather in the morning and depart for Chongdugou, follow the guide to visit core attractions, and allow plenty of time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: Today's itinerary includes Chongdugou attractions. Chongdugou is located in Luanchuan, famous for its vast bamboo forests, waterfalls, and the agricultural charm of western Henan. It is one of the few "Jiangnan water town" style summer leisure spots. The scenic area is divided into two zones: Jinji River and Dicui River. Jinji River is famous for its clusters of waterfalls, splashing water and offering a refreshing and pleasant atmosphere; Dicui River is a continuous bamboo forest, where you can stroll through it with lush greenery. Here, you can stay in farmhouses, taste wild vegetables, and experience authentic mountain village life in western Henan. The pace is relaxed, especially suitable for family trips and summer vacations. My understanding is that slowing down the pace and not rushing to see attractions — walking through the bamboo forest or sitting by the stream is the right way to experience Chongdugou; Summer is the most comfortable, so cool you don't want to walk.

Friendly reminder: The canyon trail is adjacent to water and cliffs. Do not climb over guardrails or play in dangerous areas, and watch out for accompanying children. Visitors generally report that most believe Chongdugou is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down and follow the guide to listen to the explanations, saving time for the most impressive details and the best camera angles. Depending on the situation, bring some change and small snack packs that will be useful when the scenic area has poor signal or emergency supplies. Don't wait until you're hungry to find them.

Day 2: Longtan Grand Canyon

Gather in the morning and depart for Longtan Grand Canyon, follow the guide to visit core attractions, allowing ample time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, then check into the hotel in the evening to recharge and prepare for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: This stop is Longtan Grand Canyon. Located in Xin'an, it is a canyon famous for its Hongyan Valley and water flowing upward, earning it the reputation of a "canyon masterpiece" and an "ancient marine natural museum." Trails like Liubutan and Yixiantian are highly water-friendly, with the Hongyan cliffs and clear waters complementing each other. In summer, it is especially cool and refreshing, making it a family waterside destination not far from Luoyang city. The canyon stretches for several kilometers, with waterfalls, deep pools, and strange rocks along the way, offering a new view at every step. My understanding is that wearing a pair of non-slip river trekking shoes or sneakers is ideal, and valuables like phones should be waterproofed; Families with children should slow down the pace and choose gentle boardwalks without rushing to finish the entire route.

Friendly reminder: Signal inside the canyon may be poor. Agree on a meeting point with the guide in advance and don't go alone. Visitors generally report that Longtan Grand Canyon is worth a special trip. It's recommended to slow down and follow the guide to the explanation, saving time for the most impressive details and the best camera angles. Considering actual conditions, mountain weather can change quickly, and a windbreaker jacket is more practical than anything; Choose shoes that are non-slip and comfortable; skipping a few photos won't sprain your ankle.

Day 3: Sui-Tang Luoyang City

Gather in the morning and depart for Sui-Tang Luoyang City, follow the guide to visit core attractions, allowing ample time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, check into the hotel in the evening to recharge and prepare for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: Today's itinerary includes Sui-Tang Luoyang City attractions. Sui-Tang Luoyang City National Heritage Park centers around Yingtian Gate, Ming Hall, and Tiantang, recreating the grandeur of the grand palaces of the flourishing Tang Dynasty "Divine Capital"Luoyang. Yingtian Gate is the true south gate of Sui-Tang Luoyang City, grand and magnificent. Climbing the tower offers a panoramic view of the central axis, with stunning light shows at night; Ming Hall is the "Palace of Myriad Phenomena" from Empress Wu Zetian's reign, while Tiantang is a tall pagoda for worshipping Buddhas. Both buildings recreate the magnificent decorations of the Tang imperial court. Strolling along Jiuzhou Pool is also a great way to recall the grandeur of the imperial gardens of the past. This place is closely linked to TV dramas such as "Wu Zetian" and "The Wind RisesLuoyang," making it the most popular Tang culture check-in spot in recent years. My understanding is that you must tour at night—when the city lights come on, the lights of Yingtian Gate and Mingtang Heaven are what the 'Divine Capital' should look like; By day, you can admire the palace decorations; at night, watch the light show—two experiences in one day.

Friendly reminder: The ancient capital's attractions are scattered and involve many walking and transfers. It is recommended to wear comfortable flat shoes and plan your route well. Visitors generally report that Sui-Tang Luoyang City is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down and follow the guide to listen to the explanations, saving time for the most impressive details and the best camera angles. Based on actual circumstances, don't shop impulsively; if you see a "limited-time offer," calm down for three minutes; If you really want to bring souvenirs, make sure to buy a reputable store and keep your receipt for peace of mind.

Day 4: Longmen Grottoes

Gather in the morning and depart for Longmen Grottoes, follow the guide to visit key attractions, and allow enough time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: Today's itinerary includes Longmen Grottoes attractions, carved into the cliffs on both banks of the Yi River south of Luoyang city. Since Emperor Xiaowen of Northern Wei moved the capital to Luoyang, construction has continued through the Eastern Wei, Western Wei, Northern Qi, Sui, and Tang dynasties. Currently, there are over 2,300 cave niches, over 100,000 statues, and more than 2,800 inscriptions and inscriptions. The most impressive is the Vairocana Buddha at Fengxian Temple, standing over 17 meters tall, with a plump face and kind-looking eyes. Legend has it that it was carved after the likeness of Empress Wu Zetian and represents the pinnacle of Tang dynasty stone carving art. Along with Dunhuang Mogao Caves and Datong Yungang, it is known as one of China's three great grottoes and a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. When touring, head south along the Yi River trail from the Xishan Grottoes, where Binyang Three Caves, Ten Thousand Buddha Caves, and Lotus Cave each have highlights. Cross the bridge to the Dongshan Buddha Worship Platform for a panoramic view. My understanding is that in the morning, first visit the main cave of Xishan and admire the Big Buddha while there are fewer people; in the afternoon, go to the Dongshan Viewing Platform for the best lighting and angle; If you need to walk backward along both banks of the Yi River, a pair of comfortable shoes can save you a lot of effort.

Friendly reminder: UV rays are strong in the cave scenic area. On sunny days, bring a sun hat and sunscreen, and remember to stay hydrated since the route is long. Visitors generally report that most find the Vairocana Buddha the most breathtaking, and the best sunlight at sunset on the Western Hills; If you need to walk back along both banks of the Yi River, it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes and allow half a day. Depending on the situation, documents and wallets should be kept separately. Important documents can be taken and stored as backups on your phone so that if lost, you can quickly reissue them without delaying your trip.

Day 5: Departure

Arrange a dedicated shuttle to your station or airport according to your flight or train time, ending your pleasant journey and returning with plenty of memories.

Friendly reminder: On the return day, luggage is often missed. It's recommended to make a checklist the night before and check each item one by one, and keep your documents and receipts in a separate bag. Travelers generally recommend a more relaxed plan for the return day, preferring to arrive early rather than rush and travel with ease. Based on actual conditions, dehydration is the worst thing on long trips—carry a water bottle and drink small amounts frequently; On the first night in plateaus or mountains, don't wash your hair or shower too long, giving your body some room to adjust.
