Day 1: Erlitou

Gather in the morning and depart for Erlitou, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing plenty of time for photos and rest; enjoy a local specialty lunch at noon, check in at the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Erlitou. The Erlitou site is located in Yanshi, Luoyang, and is praised by scholars as 'the earliest China.' It is a large urban site from the mid-to-late Xia Dynasty, and artifacts such as turquoise dragon-shaped objects, bronze jue, and bronze ding have been unearthed, revealing the appearance of the first capital of the Hua Xia civilization. The turquoise dragon-shaped object is inlaid with more than two thousand pieces of turquoise and is hailed as 'the first dragon of China,' serving as important evidence of dragon worship in China. The Erlitou site museum presents the archaeological site vividly and is an essential stop for studying the origins of Chinese civilization. My understanding is that visiting the site after first learning about the academic controversies regarding the 'Xia capital' will provide deeper insight when viewing the exhibits. The museum's exhibitions are carefully curated and worth viewing slowly.

Tips: There is a large temperature difference in the mountains between morning and evening, and the wind on the mountaintop is strong, so a windproof jacket and warm inner layers are necessary. Visitors generally feedback that most think Erlitou is worth a special trip; it is recommended to slow down, follow the guide's explanations, and leave time for the details that move you most and the best photo spots. In practice, for authentic food, go deeper into the alleys, as the lines at the main entrance of attractions are long and the taste is average. Always check and compare prices for local specialties; local supermarkets often offer more authentic items.

Day 2: Chongdugou

Gather in the morning and set off for Chongdugou, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing plenty of time for photos and rest; enjoy a local specialty lunch at noon, check in at the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: Today's itinerary includes Chongdugou attractions. Chongdugou is located in Luanchuan and is known for thousands of acres of bamboo forests, waterfalls and streams, and the farming scenery of western Henan. It is a rare 'Jiangnan water town'-style summer resort in Henan. The scenic area is divided into two sections, Jinji River and Dicuí River. Jinji River is famous for its waterfalls, with splashing waters and refreshing coolness; Dicuí River is a continuous bamboo forest, where walking amidst it offers endless greenery. Here, one can stay in farmhouses, try wild vegetables, and experience authentic village life in western Henan, with a relaxed pace, ideal for slow family tours and summer vacations. My understanding is, slow down the pace and don't rush to see all the attractions—in the bamboo forest, take a walk, by the stream, take a seat; that is the proper way to experience Chongdugou. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit, with such coolness you won't want to leave.

Friendly Tips: Signal may be poor inside the canyon, so arrange meeting points with your guide in advance and do not act alone. Visitors generally report that most think Chongdugou is worth visiting specifically; it is recommended to slow down, follow the guide's explanations, and leave time for the details that touch you most and the best photo spots. Based on actual circumstances, reserve some energy: tackle the main highlights in the morning when you are fresh, slow down in the afternoon, and avoid overexertion on the first day, or you will be exhausted for the following days.

Day 3: Wangcheng Park

Assemble in the morning and set off for Wangcheng Park, follow the guide to visit the main attractions, leaving ample time for photos and rest; have a local specialty meal at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: One highlight arranged in the itinerary is Wangcheng Park. Wangcheng Park is located in Luoyang, named because it sits on the ruins of the Eastern Zhou royal city. It has been one of the main venues for the Chinese Luoyang Peony Culture Festival and is also the city park most familiar to Luoyang residents. Every April, famous peonies such as Yao Huang, Wei Zi, and Zhao Fen bloom in competition, displaying a dazzling array of colors and creating a magnificent spectacle. The park also preserves the ruins of the Zhou royal city and a zoo, combining historical depth with recreational functions, making it a classic spot for visitors to check out the "Peony Flower City." In my view, if you come during peony season (April), this place must be listed as a must-visit destination. In the early morning, when there are fewer people, the peonies with dew are the most delicate; outside the bloom season, it is more suitable for a leisurely walk.

Tips: Popular attractions in the park often have long queues; get a map and performance schedule upon entry and prioritize must-see attractions. Visitors generally report that most believe Wangcheng Park is worth a special visit. It is recommended to slow down, follow the guide's explanations, and reserve time for the details that touch you most and the best photo spots. Consider the actual situation, respect local customs, dress appropriately when entering religious sites, and avoid pointing at things casually—a simple greeting can earn goodwill.
