Day 1: Baiyun Mountain

Gather in the morning and depart for Baiyun Mountain, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, and allow plenty of time for photography and rest; at noon, enjoy local specialty meals, and in the evening, check into the hotel to recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: Today's itinerary includes Baiyun Mountain attractions. Baiyun Mountain is located in the Funiu Mountains of Song County. From Yuhuang Peak, you can view the sea of clouds at sunrise. The area has a high forest coverage and abundant negative oxygen ions, making it a natural oxygen bar. Within the scenic area, Jiulong Waterfall and the Highland Peony Garden each have their own characteristics. It is ideal for summer cooling and autumn leaf viewing, being one of the few high-altitude resort-type scenic areas in Henan. You can connect various points via cable car or scenic shuttle bus. The mountaintop offers a broad view and misty clouds, resembling a fairyland. In my opinion, visiting in summer for the cool weather is most worthwhile, as the mountain’s coolness sharply contrasts with the city’s heat; waking up early to climb Yuhuang Peak for the sunrise over the sea of clouds requires some luck, but even if you miss the sunrise, the mountains in the morning mist are beautiful enough.

Tips: Many mountain paths are slippery, especially downhill, so be careful to shift your center of gravity back and slow your pace. Knee pads are recommended. Visitors generally report that most believe Baiyun Mountain is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down, follow the guide’s explanations, and leave time for the details that move you most and the photo spots that are most scenic. Considering the actual situation, when taking photos, don’t only focus on getting good shots; pay attention to your feet and surroundings, and make sure to stand securely at the edges of viewing platforms or walkways.

Day 2: Erlitou

Gather in the morning and depart for Erlitou, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing ample time for photos and rest; enjoy local specialty dishes at noon, check in at the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Erlitou. The Erlitou site is located in Yanshi, Luoyang, and is acclaimed by scholars as 'the earliest China.' It is a large urban site from the mid-to-late Xia Dynasty, and artifacts such as turquoise dragon-shaped objects, bronze jue, and bronze ding have been unearthed, revealing the appearance of the first capital of the Hua Xia civilization. The turquoise dragon-shaped object is inlaid with more than two thousand pieces of turquoise and is praised as 'the first dragon of Hua Xia,' serving as significant evidence of dragon worship in China. The Erlitou Site Museum presents the archaeological site authentically and is an indispensable stop for researching the origins of Chinese civilization. In my understanding, visiting the site with prior knowledge of the academic debates surrounding the 'capital of Xia' allows for a deeper appreciation of the exhibits; the museum's display is carefully curated and worth examining slowly.

Warm Tips: The mountain paths have many steps and steep slopes, so be sure to wear non-slip sports shoes. Those with limited mobility are advised to use the cable car. Tourists generally feedback that most visitors think Erlitou is worth a special trip; it is recommended to slow down, follow the guide's explanations, and leave time for the details that move you most and the best photo spots. Depending on your actual situation, aim to take photos early in the morning or late in the afternoon—the soft light and fewer people in the early morning and the golden glow at dusk are ideal, while noon light is harsh and crowded; it's more practical to rest at that time.

Day 3: Return Trip

Assemble in the morning and depart for Longmen Grottoes. Follow the guide to visit the main attractions, allowing ample time for taking photos and resting; enjoy a local specialty meal at noon, and check into the hotel in the evening to recharge for the next day’s itinerary.

Friendly reminder: On the day of return, be sure to check your flight or train schedule, and set off early to allow plenty of time. Before checking out, double-check your room for any forgotten items. Many travelers report that most people buy some souvenirs before returning, so it is recommended to purchase them from official stores and keep the receipts, to avoid last-minute stress. Based on practical circumstances, be punctual; arrive at the meeting point five to ten minutes in advance. It is better for people to wait for the vehicle than for the vehicle to wait for people—don’t keep everyone waiting for you.
