Jiaozuo 3-Day Tour: Henan Only Show & Guoliang Village
Jiaozuo 3-day tour covering Henan Only Show and Guoliang Village. Sightseeing tickets and shuttle bus included.
Highlights
Day 1: Only Henan
Gather in the morning and set off for Only Henan, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing plenty of time for photos and rest; at noon, enjoy local specialty dishes, and in the evening, check into the hotel to recharge for the next day's itinerary.
Attraction Introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Only Henan. 'Only Henan·Theatrical Fantasy City' is located in Zhongmu, Zhengzhou, a giant drama village built from rammed earth. Through more than twenty theaters and nearly a hundred performances, it presents the hardships, harvests, and resilience of Central Plains civilization. The main theaters’ shows, such as 'Fantasy City,' 'Train Station,' and 'Li Family Village,' have great reputations, while the small theaters are each full of creative ideas. The motif of wheat waves runs throughout, making it a phenomenon-level cultural tourism card of Henan. This is not a traditional attraction but an immersive cultural experience. My understanding is that you should reserve a full day, schedule the main shows first, and intersperse visits to the small theaters; book tickets through official channels in advance and check the performance schedule, as popular shows often sell out.
Tips: Signal may be poor inside the canyon, so agree on a meeting point with the guide in advance and do not act alone. Visitors generally report that the immersive experience is loved by young people, but tickets are expensive and time-consuming; it is recommended to select the main theaters and set aside at least half a day. Depending on actual conditions, the best times for photos are early morning or late afternoon—early morning with fewer people and soft light, and late afternoon with golden glow are best, while noon light is harsh and crowded, making it better to rest.
Day 2: Guoliang Village
Assemble in the morning and depart for Guoliang Village, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing ample time for taking photos and resting; at noon, enjoy local specialty meals, and in the evening, check into the hotel to recharge for the next day's itinerary.
Attraction introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Guoliang Village. Guoliang Village is hidden on the cliffs deep in the Taihang Mountains and is famous for its 'cliff-hanging road.' In the 1970s, villagers, without any large machinery, spent over five years chiseling a tunnel about 1,300 meters long on the sheer cliff, known as a miracle of the 'modern-day Yu Gong.' Today, this cliff-hanging road is the most hardcore check-in spot in the Taihang Mountains, where walking along it offers views of the abyss and the canyon village below. Guoliang Village is also called the 'Chinese Film Village' because many TV dramas and films have been shot here. My suggestion is to allow plenty of time when walking the cliff-hanging road, watch and take photos carefully, pay attention to your feet and passing vehicles; the best lighting is in the early morning or evening, while noon is rather flat; wear non-slip shoes and stay away from the cliff edge.
Kind tips: The cobblestone roads in the ancient town are narrow and slippery, so be sure to wear non-slip flat shoes and be careful in the morning and evening. Tourists generally report that the cliff village and the cliff-hanging road are connected, and the filming sites have a built-in story atmosphere; note that lodging and dining in the village are simple, so lower your expectations to enjoy it more. According to the actual situation, long distances are most prone to dehydration, so carry a water bottle and drink small amounts frequently; on the first night in highlands or mountainous areas, don’t wash your hair or bathe for too long, giving your body some time to adapt.
Day 3: Departure
Transfer to the station/airport per your departure, ending a pleasant journey.
Friendly tips: Pack the night before and keep ID, power bank and souvenirs together; allow extra time for the station/airport; bring your ID and stay with your guide, noting the meeting time and place. Traveler feedback — Return-day travelers remind: pack ID and souvenirs the night before; allow extra time. Practical note — Return-day tip: pack ID, power bank and souvenirs the night before; allow extra time—mountain roads are unpredictable.
