Day 1: Yangzhou

Set off early from the hotel straight to Yangzhou, first listening to the tour guide’s explanation of the background and highlights, then leisurely exploring at your own pace and taking extra photos of spots that interest you. After lunch, take a short rest, and return to the hotel in the evening to save energy for the next day.

Attraction introduction: Today’s itinerary includes Yangzhou attractions. Yangzhou is a stop worth making on this route, attracting travelers from afar with its unique natural or cultural charm. It is recommended to slow down, follow the guide’s explanations, and reserve time for the details that move you the most and the best photography spots. My understanding is that when climbing mountains, always act within your limits. Use cable cars when possible, but those with knee problems should not force themselves to hike; the scenery isn’t worth overexertion.

Friendly reminder: Temperature differences in the mountains are large in the morning and evening, and it is windy at the top. A windproof jacket and a warm layer underneath are necessary. Tourists generally report that most visitors consider Yangzhou worth a special visit. It is recommended to slow down, follow the guide’s explanations, and reserve time for the details that move you most and the best photo spots. Based on your actual condition, leave some energy in reserve: tackle the main attractions in the morning when you are energetic, slow down in the afternoon, and do not exhaust yourself on the first day, leaving you drained for the following days.

Day 2: Free time

Today focuses on Wuxi as the theme, avoiding peak crowds to enter the park at off-peak hours, and following the recommended route for an in-depth tour; for lunch, enjoy local flavors nearby, and in the afternoon you can have free activities or follow the guide for additional sightseeing. In the evening, stay at the hotel to rest.

Attraction introduction: One of the highlights in the itinerary is Wuxi. Wuxi is worth a special stop on this route, attracting travelers from afar with its unique natural or cultural charm. It is recommended to slow down, follow the guide for explanations, and leave time for the details that move you most and the best spots for photos. My understanding is that it is very windy at the top of the mountain with a significant temperature difference, so a windbreaker and a thermos are standard; don’t freeze yourself for the sake of traveling light.

Warm tips: Mountain roads are often slippery, especially when going downhill, so pay attention to shifting your center of gravity backward and slowing your pace; knee pads can be useful. Tourists generally reflect that most visitors believe Wuxi is worth visiting specifically; it is recommended to slow down, follow the guide for explanations, and leave time for the details that move you most and the best spots for photos. According to the actual situation, respect local customs, dress appropriately when entering religious sites, do not point casually, and a simple greeting can earn goodwill.

Day 3: Free time

Gather in the morning and set off for Suzhou. Follow the guide to tour the main attractions, covering all the highlights, with ample time reserved for taking photos and resting. At noon, enjoy local specialty dishes. In the afternoon, continue exploring. In the evening, check into the hotel to rest and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: This stop is Suzhou, famous for its gardens. Classical gardens such as the Humble Administrator's Garden, Lingering Garden, and Lion Grove Garden offer changing views and elegant, delicate designs. They represent the saying, 'The best gardens in Jiangnan are in Suzhou; the best gardens in Suzhou are in Jiangnan.' Attractions like Tiger Hill, Hanshan Temple, Pingjiang Road, and Shantang Street carry a long-standing ancient charm, making Suzhou a poetic water-town city. My understanding is that gardens are best enjoyed slowly and mindfully, appreciating them with explanations to understand the garden design techniques. The night views of Pingjiang Road and Shantang Street have a very Jiangnan charm.

Tips: Hiking sections have many steps and steep slopes, so make sure to wear non-slip sports shoes. For those with mobility issues, it is recommended to use the cable car. Visitors generally report that the gardens are exquisite and favored by scholars; tourists say the Lingering Garden and Humble Administrator's Garden are must-sees. Note that gardens are largely similar, and selecting 2–3 is sufficient. In practical terms, the most to be avoided in a guided tour is rushing through without attention; listening to the guide is the essence. The cultural stories behind each attraction are often more memorable than photos, so ask the guide immediately if something is not understood.

Day 4: Free time

Set off early in the morning from the hotel straight to Wuzhen. First, listen to the tour guide’s explanation of the background and highlights, then explore freely at a leisurely pace and take extra photos of spots that interest you. After lunch, take a short rest, and return to the hotel in the evening to save energy for the next day.

Attraction Introduction: This stop is Wuzhen, a representative ancient water town in Jiangnan. Dongzha maintains the authentic water town lifestyle, while Xizha is famous for its night views and leisure vacation experience. The Wooden Heart Art Museum and Mao Dun’s Former Residence add cultural depth. You can ride a wooden boat along the alleys and stay overnight in a waterside inn to experience the poetic charm of 'small bridges, flowing water, and people's homes.' My understanding is that Wuzhen’s essence lies in the early morning and at night, as Xizha tends to be crowded during the day; taking a boat ride to see the lights on both banks is the most unforgettable experience.

Tips: The streets and alleys of the ancient town are complex and easy to get lost in, so remember the meeting time and clear landmarks. Visitors generally say that Xizha’s nightscape and water pavilions are the most beautiful; during the day it’s crowded and the night tour is worthwhile. Note that accommodation in Xizha is expensive but worth it for the experience, and staying one night is recommended. Depending on the situation, for authentic food, go deeper into the alleys; queues at the main entrance of scenic spots are long and the taste is average. For local specialties, always ask about prices and compare, as local supermarkets often carry more authentic products.

Day 5: Free time

Today's theme is Hangzhou. Avoid peak crowds by entering the park during off-peak hours and explore along the recommended routes in depth; enjoy local cuisine nearby at noon, and in the afternoon, either engage in free activities or follow a guide for additional sightseeing. In the evening, check in at a hotel to rest.

Attraction Introduction: One of the highlights of this itinerary is Hangzhou. Hangzhou is famous for West Lake, and the 'Ten Scenes of West Lake,' such as Su Causeway in Spring, Broken Bridge in Snow, and the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon, are picturesque. Other attractions like Leifeng Pagoda, Lingyin Temple, and Hefang Street each have their own charm. This famous city in Jiangnan features intertwined mountains and waters and is rich in culture, making it one of the most poetic cities in China. In my view, there is no need to rush through West Lake's attractions; a stroll along the lake or a boat ride is the proper way to enjoy it. Longjing Tea Plantation and Lingyin Temple deserve their own dedicated time, and West Lake in the early morning is both less crowded and beautiful.

Tips: Many mountain paths are slippery. Pay special attention to shifting your weight backward and slowing down on downhill sections; knee pads are recommended. Tourists generally report that West Lake is free but very large. People say Broken Bridge is crowded, and early morning is the most beautiful. Renting a bicycle is advised, and there are long lines at Leifeng Pagoda. Considering actual conditions, conserve your energy: tackle key attractions in the morning when you're fresh, slow down in the afternoon, and avoid exhausting yourself on the first day, or you won't have energy for the following days.
