Henan 3-Day Tour: Scenic Area & Scenic Area

Set out from the hotel early in the morning directly to Huangguoshu. First, listen to the tour guide's explanation of the background and highlights, then take a leisurely stroll at your own pace and revisit photo spots that interest you. After lunch, rest for a while and return to the hotel in the evening to build up energy for the next day.

Attraction Introduction: This stop brings us to Huangguoshu. Huangguoshu Waterfall is located in Anshun, Guizhou, and is one of the largest waterfalls in Asia, over a hundred meters wide with a drop of nearly seventy meters. The water plunges down, mist rises, and the roar is like thunder, making it spectacular. Behind the waterfall is the Water Curtain Cave, which you can pass through and view the waterfall from the inside, offering a unique experience. In my understanding, visiting during the high water period (summer) offers the most spectacular view of the waterfall, but there is a lot of mist and the ground is slippery. It is recommended to bring a raincoat or waterproof jacket and wear non-slip shoes, and pay attention to your steps.

Warm Tips: The mountain area has large temperature differences between morning and evening, and the mountaintop wind is strong, so a windproof jacket and warm inner layer are necessary. The Small Seven Holes features a water forest, the sixty-eight-step waterfall, Wolong Pond, and other scenic spots that seem like a fairyland. It is hailed as the "Emerald on the Earth's Belt" and is also a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. Here, mountains and water blend beautifully, and the air is fresh. It is the most renowned karst landscape in Guizhou. In my understanding, walking in Xiaoqikong involves a lot of steps and the bridges and caves can be slippery, so non-slip shoes are a must; the scenic area is large, so set aside a full day to enjoy it thoroughly.

Tips: There are many slippery mountain paths, especially downhill, so keep your center of gravity back and slow your pace, and bring a pair of knee protectors if needed. Visitors generally comment that the water in Xiaoqikong is clear and transparent, earning it the name "Emerald of the Earth," and they say it’s perfect for escaping the heat. Note that the walking routes are long, so bring some snacks and water. In practice, the worst thing on a guided tour is to rush through; listening to explanations is the essence. The cultural stories behind each attraction are often more unforgettable than photos, so ask the guide on the spot if you don’t understand something.
