Day 1: Huangguoshu

In the morning, gather and depart for Huangguoshu, follow the tour guide along the main route, visiting all the key highlights one by one, with ample time reserved for taking photos and resting; at noon, enjoy local specialty cuisine. In the afternoon, continue exploring in depth, and in the evening, check in to the hotel to rest and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: This stop is at Huangguoshu. Huangguoshu Waterfall is located in Anshun, Guizhou, and is one of the largest waterfalls in Asia, over a hundred meters wide and nearly seventy meters in height, with a cascade that plunges straight down, mist rising, and a roar like thunder—truly spectacular. Behind the waterfall is a water curtain cave, which can be passed through to view the waterfall from the inside, offering a unique experience. My understanding is that the waterfall is most magnificent during the high water period (summer), but the mist is heavy and the ground is slippery, so it is recommended to bring a raincoat or waterproof jacket; wear non-slip shoes and watch your step.

Tips: Many mountain paths are slippery, especially when going downhill, so be careful to shift your center of gravity backward and slow your steps; it is advisable to bring knee protectors. Visitors generally report that the main waterfall is magnificent, and the experience of passing through the water curtain cave is unique; note that the water curtain cave can get you wet, and at Libo Xiaoqikong, there is a lot of walking—wear non-slip shoes. Considering the actual situation, for the best photos, go early in the morning or late in the evening—there are fewer people and softer light in the morning, and golden light at dusk is best; midday light is harsh and crowded, better for resting.

Day 2: Libo

Depart early from the hotel and head straight to Libo. First, listen to the tour guide explain the background and highlights, then explore freely at a leisurely pace and take additional photos according to your interests. After lunch, take a short rest, and return to the hotel in the evening to build up energy for the next day.

Attraction Introduction: This stop is Libo, located in Qiannan, Guizhou, and is famous for the Little Seven Holes and Big Seven Holes. The water forest of Little Seven Holes, the sixty-eight-step waterfall, and the Wolong Pool resemble a fairyland, earning it the nickname 'Green Jewel on the Belt of the Earth.' It is also a World Natural Heritage site. The area combines mountains and water with fresh air, making it the most renowned karst landscape in Guizhou. In my understanding, the Little Seven Holes involves a lot of walking, with slippery bridges and tunnels, so it's essential to wear non-slip shoes. The scenic area is quite large, so it is advisable to reserve a full day to explore it leisurely.

Tips: The climbing paths have many steps and steep slopes, so be sure to wear non-slip sports shoes. For those with difficulties walking, it is recommended to take the cable car. Tourists generally say that the waters of Little Seven Holes are clear and beautiful, earning the nickname 'Green Jewel of the Earth,' and it is a good place to cool off in summer. Note that the walking routes are long, so bring some snacks and water. In actual practice, long journeys are most at risk of dehydration, so carry a water bottle and drink small amounts frequently. On the first night in highlands or mountains, avoid washing your hair or taking long baths to give your body a chance to adapt.

Day 3: Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village

Today's theme is Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village. Avoid peak crowds by visiting off-peak hours, and follow the recommended route for an in-depth tour. Enjoy a nearby local lunch at noon, spend the afternoon on free activities or join the guide for additional sightseeing, and check into a hotel in the evening to rest.

Attraction introduction: This stop is Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, located in southeastern Guizhou. It is the largest Miao ethnic settlement in the world, with thousands of stilted houses built along the mountains in layers. When night falls, thousands of lights resemble countless stars, creating a spectacular view. Here, visitors can experience Miao long-table banquets, silver jewelry, and songs and dances, immersing in the rich Miao culture. My suggestion is to stay overnight to see the night view; the sparkling lights are the soul of Xijiang. The misty Miao village in the early morning is also extremely beautiful—don’t sleep in.

Tips: There is a large temperature difference in the mountains in the morning and evening, and strong winds on mountaintops, so a windproof jacket and warm layers are necessary. Tourists commonly report that the night view of thousands of lights is very photogenic; they say it is commercialized but still magnificent. Remember to visit the viewing platform; experiencing the long-table banquet is recommended. Based on the actual situation, be time-conscious—arrive five to ten minutes early for gatherings; it’s better for people to wait for the vehicle than for the vehicle to wait for people; don’t make everyone wait for you.

Day 4: Fanjing Mountain

Gather in the morning and set off for Fanjing Mountain. Follow the guide to tour the main route, covering all the key spots, allowing ample time for photography and rest; enjoy a local specialty meal at noon, continue exploring in the afternoon, and check into the hotel by evening to rest and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: One of the highlights of the itinerary is Fanjing Mountain. Fanjing Mountain is located in Tongren, Guizhou, and is the main peak of the Wuling Mountains, with an elevation of 2,572 meters. In 2018, it was listed as a World Natural Heritage site and is also the only habitat of the endangered Guizhou golden monkey. Red Cloud Golden Summit and Mushroom Stone are the iconic landscapes. During the sea of clouds and sunrise period, it resembles a fairyland and is a sacred place to get close to pristine nature. My understanding is that the summit is windy and has large temperature differences; a windbreaker and a thermos are standard equipment, so don’t go lightly dressed and end up freezing yourself.

Warm Tips: Many sections of the mountain road are slippery, especially downhill, so pay attention to shifting your center of gravity backward and slowing your pace. It’s advisable to bring a pair of knee pads. Visitors generally feedback that most believe Fanjing Mountain is worth a special trip, and it is recommended to slow down, follow the guide’s explanations, and leave time for the details that touch you most and the best photo spots. Depending on the situation, when taking photos, don’t just focus on getting good shots—be mindful of your feet and surroundings. Always hold on and stand securely at the edges of viewing platforms and walkways.

Day 5: Zhenyuan County

Depart from the hotel early in the morning and head straight to Zhenyuan County. First, listen to the tour guide explain the background and highlights, then explore freely at a leisurely pace and take additional photos according to your interests. After lunch, take a short rest and return to the hotel in the evening to recharge for the next day.

Attraction Introduction: One of the highlights of the itinerary is Zhenyuan County. Zhenyuan Ancient Town is located in southeastern Guizhou, with the Wuyang River winding through the town in an S-shape, forming a natural "Taiji diagram." The town has a history of over two thousand years. The Qinglong Cave ancient architectural complex integrates three religions and hangs on the cliff, while the private residences feature uniquely quirky styles. In 2020, it was upgraded to 5A status and is a tranquil water town in southeastern Guizhou. My understanding is that local specialties should be tasted before buying and compared across several shops, so as to avoid impulsive purchases at the main entrance.

Tips: The ancient town's cobblestone streets are narrow and slippery, so be sure to wear non-slip flat shoes and pay attention to slipping in the morning and evening. Feedback from tourists generally indicates that most visitors think Zhenyuan County is worth a dedicated trip. It is recommended to slow down, listen to the tour guide, and reserve your time for the details that move you the most and the best photo spots. Depending on the actual situation, take photos early in the morning or late in the afternoon — mornings have fewer people and soft light, and evenings have golden light and are best for photos. Midday has harsh overhead light and is crowded, so it’s better to rest during that time.
