Day 1: Terracotta Army

Set off from the hotel early in the morning directly to Terracotta Army, first listen to the tour guide explain the background and highlights, then explore freely at a slow pace and take extra photos according to your interests; after lunch, take a short rest, return to the hotel in the evening to save energy for the next day.

Attraction Introduction: This stop is Terracotta Army. The Terracotta Army of Qin Shi Huang is located in Lintong, Xi'an. It is the burial pit of Emperor Qin Shi Huang and is hailed as the 'Eighth Wonder of the World'. In 1987, it was listed as a World Cultural Heritage site. The three pits contain thousands of life-sized terracotta warriors and horses, each with unique facial features, vividly recreating the powerful military formation of the Qin army that swept across the lands. It is the most direct window to understand Qin dynasty history. My understanding is that visiting Terracotta Army really requires a guided explanation; otherwise, it's just a bunch of clay figures. Among the three pits, Pit One is the most spectacular, and it is advisable to visit it first.

Tips: There is a large temperature difference between morning and evening in the mountainous area, and the mountain top is windy. A windproof jacket and warm inner layers are very necessary. Generally, tourists feel that most people think Terracotta Army is worth going to specially. It is recommended to slow down, listen to the guide, and reserve time for the details that move you the most and the best photo spots. Based on actual conditions, be punctual; arrive five to ten minutes early for gatherings. It is better for people to wait for the vehicle than the vehicle to wait for people, so as not to keep everyone waiting for you.

Day 2: Huaqing Palace

Today's itinerary focuses on Huaqing Palace, avoiding peak crowds by entering the park during off-peak hours, following the recommended route for an in-depth visit; for lunch, enjoy local flavors nearby. In the afternoon, you can either have free time or follow the guide for additional sightseeing, and in the evening, check into the hotel to rest.

Attraction Introduction: Today's itinerary includes Huaqing Palace attractions. Huaqing Palace is located in Lintong, Xi'an, backed by Mount Li and facing the Wei River. It was a Tang Dynasty imperial hot spring palace and is famous for the love story between Emperor Xuanzong of Tang and Yang Guifei, as well as the poem "The Song of Everlasting Sorrow." It also houses the former site of the "Xi'an Incident," with a rich historical background. The large-scale live show "The Song of Everlasting Sorrow" in the evening has an excellent reputation. My understanding is that visiting historical sites during the day and watching the live show in the evening provide two worthwhile experiences; tickets should be booked in advance, and the closer the seat to the stage, the better the viewing experience.

Tips: There are many incense stalls around the temple; please buy incense as needed and spend rationally. Tourists generally praise the Tang-style hot spring pool and "The Song of Everlasting Sorrow" performance, noting that the night show is more worthwhile. Reminder: tickets are in high demand, so book in advance. Depending on the situation, when taking photos, don’t just focus on capturing images—pay attention to your feet and the surrounding environment. Make sure to hold on and stand steady at viewing platforms and edge walkways.

Day 3: Yan'an, Shaanxi, Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River

In the morning, gather and depart for Yan'an, Shaanxi, to visit the Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River. Follow the guide along the main route, exploring all the key spots, and allow plenty of time for photos and rest. At noon, enjoy a local specialty meal, and in the afternoon continue the tour. In the evening, check into the hotel to rest and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Sightspot Introduction: One highlight of the trip is the Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River in Yan'an, Shaanxi. Hukou Waterfall is the only yellow waterfall on the Yellow River, where the thousand-mile muddy stream narrows into a pot between the Shanxi-Shaanxi gorge, creating a magnificent sight. The waterfall can be viewed from both banks (Shaanxi/Shanxi). During the flood season, the roar of the water is thunderous, and in winter, the ice formations are crystal clear, making it the grandest mark of the Mother River. My understanding is that families with children should slow down, choose the gentle boardwalk sections, and avoid rushing to see all the spots.

Warm Tips: The water-access areas in the gorge are slippery, so be sure to wear non-slip water shoes or sneakers, and protect valuables like your phone from water. Visitor feedback generally indicates that most consider the Hukou Waterfall in Yan'an, Shaanxi, worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down, follow the guide's explanations, and leave time for the details that move you most and the best photo spots. Based on the actual situation, the best times for photos are early morning or late afternoon—fewer people and soft light in the morning, golden glow at dusk; midday overhead light is harsh and crowded, so better to rest then.
