Day 1: Chongdugou

Gather in the morning and depart for Chongdugou, follow the guide to visit core attractions, and allow plenty of time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: This stop is Chongdugou. Chongdugou is located in Luanchuan, famous for its vast bamboo forests, waterfalls, and the agricultural charm of western Henan. It is one of the few "Jiangnan water town" style summer leisure spots in Henan. The scenic area is divided into Jinji River and Dicui River. Jinji River is famous for its clusters of waterfalls, with splashing water that is cool and pleasant; Dicui River is a continuous bamboo forest, with lush greenery stretching through. Here, you can stay in farmhouses, taste wild vegetables, and experience authentic mountain village life in western Henan. The pace is relaxed, making it especially suitable for family trips and summer vacations. My understanding is that slowing down the pace and not rushing to see attractions — walking through the bamboo forest or sitting by the stream is the right way to experience Chongdugou; Summer is the most comfortable, so cool you don't want to walk.

Friendly reminder: The waterside areas of the canyon are slippery, so be sure to wear non-slip river trekking shoes or sneakers, and keep your phone and other valuables waterproof. Visitors generally report that most believe Chongdugou is worth a special trip. It's recommended to slow down, follow the guide's explanation, and save time for the most impressive details and camera spots. Given the situation, be punctual. Gather five to ten minutes early. Better to wait for the bus than for the car—don't make everyone wait for you.

Day 2: Henan Museum

Gather in the morning and depart for Henan Museum, follow the guide to visit core attractions, and allow plenty of time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Henan Museum, which is a coordinates of Central Plains civilization. The museum houses over 170,000 artifacts, presenting 'Early China' with the main theme of 'Vast China, Choosing the Central Capital for Capitalization.' Among the museum's treasures, the Jiahu bone flute is the earliest discovered playable instrument, rewriting the history of Chinese music; The Duling square ding and cloud-patterned bronze jin are the pinnacle of Shang and Zhou bronze casting; The Lady Hao Owl Zun is grandly shaped, telling the legend of Fu Hao, wife of King Wu Ding; There are also national treasure-level artifacts such as the lotus-crane square pot and Wu Zetian's golden slips. It is recommended to follow the guide or rent an interpreter to gain a two-hour overview of the main lineage of Chinese civilization. My understanding is that first go straight to a few treasures to enjoy yourself, then browse according to the timeline system—this is the most efficient way to grasp the main storyline; It's normal for people to be crowded in front of the national treasure display cabinets, so knowing the location of the treasures in advance saves you time by heading straight to the main topic.

Friendly reminder: Flash is prohibited inside the museum, please do not touch the exhibits, and follow the explanation quietly. Visitors generally report that most believe Henan Museum is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down and follow the guide to listen to the explanations, saving time for the most impressive details and the best camera angles. Based on the actual situation, don't just focus on taking photos; pay attention to your footing and the surrounding environment. Be sure to stand firmly on the viewing platform and the edges of the boardwalk.

Day 3: Mount Song

Gather in the morning and depart for Mount Song, follow the guide to visit the core attractions, allowing ample time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: One highlight of the itinerary is Mount Song. Mount Song is the Central Mountain among the Five Great Mountains, mainly located in Dengfeng City, divided into Taishi and Shaoshi Mountains. The main peak, Junji Peak, rises to about 1492 meters. Its most special feature is that Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism have been adjacent to each other for thousands of years on the same mountain: Songyang Academy was a major center for Neo-Confucianism in the Song Dynasty, and the famous story 'Standing in Snow at Chengmen' is said to have happened here; Zhongyue Temple is one of the largest and best-preserved temple complexes among the Five Great Mountains; The Star Observatory in Gaocheng Town was built under the supervision of Guo Shoujing during the Yuan Dynasty and is one of the oldest existing astronomical observation buildings. In 2010, the "Center of Heaven and Earth" historical architectural complex, represented by Songyang Academy, Zhongyue Temple, Songyue Temple Pagoda, Shaolin Temple Regular Residence, Pagoda Forest, First Patriarch's Hermitage, and Star Observation Platform, was inscribed on the World Heritage List. My understanding is that on the first day, there's no need to overindulge—first visit the academy and Zhongyue Temple to understand the ritual system of "Heaven and Earth in the Center," saving the energy for hiking later; If you have extra time, going to the Sanhuangzhai plank road on Shaoshi Mountain in the evening to watch the sunset is the most photogenic part of the entire trip.

Friendly reminder: The mountain roads are slippery, so be sure to shift your center of gravity and slow down downhill. Prepare a pair of knee pads. Visitors generally report that Mount Song is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down, follow the guide's explanation, and save time for the most impressive details and the best camera spots. Depending on the situation, shoot early or late—the morning is quiet and the golden light is best for photos, while the noon peak is cramped and flat, so it's more cost-effective to rest.
