Day 1: Chongdugou

Gather in the morning and depart for Chongdugou, following the guide to visit the main attractions, leaving enough time for taking photos and resting; enjoy a local specialty lunch at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: This stop is Chongdugou, located in Luanchuan. Chongdugou is known for its vast bamboo forests, cascading waterfalls, streams, and the agricultural charm of western Henan, making it one of Henan's rare 'Jiangnan water town'-style summer resort areas. The scenic area is divided into the Jinji River and Dicui River sections. Jinji River is famous for its waterfalls, with splashing water and a refreshing atmosphere; Dicui River features continuous bamboo forests, where walking through it gives a view full of green. Here, you can stay in farmhouse accommodations, taste wild mountain vegetables, and experience authentic life in western Henan villages. The pace is slow, making it particularly suitable for family leisure trips and summer vacations. My understanding is to slow down the pace and not rush to see attractions—walking in the bamboo forest or sitting by the stream is the proper way to enjoy Chongdugou; visiting in summer is most comfortable, as it is cool enough to not want to leave.

Warm Tips: The canyon water trails are slippery, so be sure to wear anti-slip creek shoes or sneakers, and waterproof your mobile phone and other valuables. Visitors generally report that most believe Chongdugou is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down, follow the guide for explanations, and reserve time for the details that move you most and the best photo spots. In practice, for authentic food, go deeper into the alleys, as the lines at the main entrance can be long and the taste mediocre; for local specialties, compare prices after inquiring, as local supermarkets are often more reliable.

Day 2: Sui-Tang Luoyang City

Assemble in the morning and depart for Sui-Tang Luoyang City, following the tour guide to visit the main attractions, leaving plenty of time for photos and rest; enjoy local specialty cuisine at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: This stop is Sui-Tang Luoyang City. The Sui-Tang Luoyang City National Heritage Park centers around Yingtian Gate, Mingtang, and Tiantang, restoring the palace grandeur of the prosperous Tang Dynasty "Divine Capital" Luoyang. Yingtian Gate is the south gate of Sui-Tang Luoyang City, grand in scale; from the tower, you can overlook the central axis, and there is a spectacular light show at night. Mingtang was the "Palace of Myriad Phenomena" during Wu Zetian's era, while Tiantang is a tall tower for Buddhist rituals. The interiors of both buildings recreate the magnificent furnishings of a Tang Dynasty palace. Walking along Jiuzhou Pool is also pleasant, evoking the grandeur of the royal garden. This place is closely associated with TV dramas such as "Wu Zetian" and "The Wind Rises in Luoyang", and has become one of the most popular Tang culture landmarks in Luoyang in recent years. My advice is to make sure to visit at night — when the lights are first turned on, the illumination of Yingtian Gate, Mingtang, and Tiantang truly reflects the appearance of the "Divine Capital". You can experience the palace interiors in the daytime and the light show at night, offering two experiences in one day.

Tips: Popular ancient city landmarks are crowded during holidays, so try to visit off-peak or book tickets in advance. Visitors generally report that most think Sui-Tang Luoyang City is worth a special trip; it is recommended to slow down, follow the guide for explanations, and leave time for the details that touch you most and the best photo spots. Take your physical condition into account, walk the highlights in the morning when energized, slow down in the afternoon, and avoid exhausting yourself on the first day to keep energy for the following days.

Day 3: Wangcheng Park

Gather in the morning and set off for Wangcheng Park, follow the tour guide to visit the key attractions, leaving ample time for taking photos and resting; enjoy local specialty cuisine at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: One of the highlights of the itinerary is Wangcheng Park. Wangcheng Park is located in Luoyang, and it is named for being situated on the ruins of the Eastern Zhou royal city. It has been one of the main venues for the annual Chinese Luoyang Peony Cultural Festival and is also the city park most familiar to Luoyang residents. Every April, famous peonies such as Yao Huang, Wei Zi, and Zhao Fen bloom in competition, displaying a dazzling array of colors and creating a magnificent spectacle. The park also preserves the ruins of the Zhou royal city and contains a zoo, combining historical significance with leisure functions. It is a classic spot for tourists to experience the "Peony Flower City." In my view, if you come during peony season (April), this place must be listed as a must-visit destination. In the early morning, when there are fewer people, the peonies with dew are at their most delicate; outside the flower season, it is more suitable for a leisurely walk.

Tips: When visiting the park with children, be mindful of the risk of getting separated, agree on a meeting point in advance, and prepare a contact card for your child. Tourists generally feel that Wangcheng Park is worth a special visit, and it is recommended to slow down, follow the guide’s explanations, and leave time for the details that move you most and the best photo spots. Based on the actual situation, respect local customs, dress appropriately when entering religious sites, and avoid pointing indiscriminately; a simple greeting can often be met with kindness.
