Day 1: Only Henan

Gather in the morning and set off for Only Henan, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing plenty of time for photos and rest; at noon, enjoy local specialty dishes, and in the evening, check into the hotel to recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Only Henan. 'Only Henan·Theatrical Fantasy City' is located in Zhongmu, Zhengzhou. It is a massive theatrical settlement made of rammed earth. Through more than twenty theaters and nearly a hundred performances, it showcases the hardships, harvests, and resilience of Central Plains civilization. The main theater performances such as 'Fantasy City,' 'Train Station,' and 'Li Family Village' have great reputations, while the small theaters are each full of creative ideas. The motif of wheat waves runs throughout, making it a phenomenon-level cultural tourism card of Henan. This is not a traditional attraction but an immersive cultural experience. My understanding is that you should reserve a full day, schedule the main theater performances first, and then intersperse visits to smaller theaters; book tickets in advance through official channels and check the performance schedule, as popular shows often sell out.

Tips: Signal may be poor inside the canyon, so agree on a meeting point with the tour guide in advance and do not act alone. Tourists generally report that young people love the immersive experience at Theatrical Fantasy City, but tickets are expensive and it is time-consuming; it is advised to focus on the main theaters and reserve at least half a day. Depending on the actual situation, the best time for photos is early morning or late afternoon—fewer people and softer light in the morning, golden glow at dusk; at noon, the light is harsh and crowded, so rest during that time is more worthwhile.

Day 2: Yuntai Mountain

Assemble in the morning and set off for Yuntai Mountain, follow the guide to visit the main attractions, allowing plenty of time for taking photos and resting; enjoy a local specialty meal at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the itinerary of the next day.

Attraction Introduction: Today's itinerary includes Yuntai Mountain attractions. Yuntai Mountain is located in Jiaozuo Xiuwu and is one of the first batch of world geoparks. It is famous for the red cliffs and clear waters of Hongshi Gorge, the waterfalls and streams of Tanpu Gorge, the 'Asia's highest waterfall' Yuntai Sky Waterfall in Quanpu Gorge, and the sea of clouds sunrise at Zhuyu Peak, making it the most representative landscape of the southern Taihang Mountains. Hongshi Gorge is the essence of the essence, a red quartz sandstone canyon about two kilometers long, with winding emerald water at the canyon bottom and crimson cliffs like rosy clouds; Zhuyu Peak is famous for the verse of Tang dynasty poet Wang Wei "Put in Zhuyu all over, yet one person is missing," and taking the cable car to the top provides a panoramic view of the Taihang peaks. Shuttle buses connect various points within the scenic area, and the trails are gentle, suitable for family trips. My understanding is that if you can't cover all in one day, first prioritize the core areas of Hongshi Gorge and Monkey Valley, and allow enough time for waiting in line at the scenic shuttle bus; summer is refreshing for water activities, autumn has colorful foliage, each having its own appeal.

Tips: The hiking sections have many steps and steep slopes, so be sure to wear non-slip sports shoes, and those with leg difficulties are advised to use the cable car. Visitors generally feedback that Hongshi Gorge is recognized as the most photogenic section, and the sea of clouds at Zhuyu Peak is also worth seeing; also, queues for the scenic shuttle bus are long, so if one day is insufficient, prioritize Hongshi Gorge and Monkey Valley. Based on actual conditions, on long trips the biggest risk is dehydration, so carry a water bottle and drink small amounts frequently; on the first night at a highland or mountainous area, avoid washing hair or taking long baths to give your body some time to adapt.

Practical note — Return-day tip: pack ID, power bank and souvenirs the night before; allow extra time—mountain roads are unpredictable.
