Day 1: Baiyun Mountain

In the morning, take a ride to Baiyun Mountain and climb Yuhuang Peak to see the sea of clouds; have a light meal at the mountain top at noon, and in the afternoon visit Jiulong Waterfall and the Alpine Peony Garden, breathing in the forest's oxygen-rich air. Descend in the evening and stay overnight.

Scenic spot introduction: This stop is Baiyun Mountain. Baiyun Mountain is located in the heart of Funiu Mountains in Song County. From Yuhuang Peak, you can enjoy sunrise over the sea of clouds. With high forest coverage and abundant negative oxygen ions, it is a natural oxygen bar. Within the scenic area, Jiulong Waterfall and the Alpine Peony Garden each have their own characteristics. It is a rare high-altitude resort-type scenic area for summer cooling and autumn leaf viewing. You can connect different spots by cable car or shuttle bus. The mountaintop offers broad views with clouds and mist, resembling a fairyland. In my opinion, visiting in summer for cooling is most worthwhile; the coolness in the mountains contrasts sharply with the heat in the city. Waking up early to climb Yuhuang Peak for the sunrise requires a bit of luck, but even if you miss the sunrise, the misty mountain scenery in the morning is beautiful enough.

Tips: The hiking trails have many steps and steep slopes, so you must wear non-slip sports shoes. Those with mobility issues are advised to take the cable car. According to general traveler feedback, most visitors believe Baiyun Mountain is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down, follow the guide for explanations, and leave time for the details and photo spots that move you most. Considering practical situations, long trips are most vulnerable to dehydration, so carry a water bottle and drink in small amounts frequently. On the first night at high altitude or in the mountains, do not wash your hair or take long showers; allow your body time to adjust.

Day 2: Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden

Early in the morning, start by watching the park opening performance, then check in along the Rainbow Bridge and Bian River, experiencing the Song-style street life; in the afternoon, enjoy free activities and you can visit the nearby night markets.

Attractions Introduction: One of the highlights arranged in the itinerary is Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden. Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden is located at Kaifeng and is a Song culture-themed park built based on Zhang Zeduan's 'Along the River During the Qingming Festival' from the Northern Song Dynasty. It restores the Rainbow Bridge, Bian River, streets, and restaurants depicted in the painting, recreating the bustling market life of Tokyo Bianliang. The park offers live performances and folk parades throughout the day. The most famous is the nighttime water live show 'The Great Song: Dream of Tokyo,' which uses lights and visual effects to recreate the splendor of the Northern Song capital; during the day, you can watch the opening ceremony, Bao Gong welcoming guests, Wang Yuanwai matchmaking, and other immersive folk performances. This is also a paradise for Hanfu enthusiasts. Wearing Song-style Hanfu while walking between Rainbow Bridge and Bian River allows for effortless ancient-style photography. My understanding is that upon entering the park, you should first get the performance schedule, plan must-see performances and nighttime shows, and then casually stroll and eat; visiting the market during the day is the most immersive experience, while the nighttime show is an audiovisual feast that is worth seeing if your budget allows.

Tips: Dining inside the park is relatively expensive, so you can bring some water and snacks, and make sure to keep your belongings safe. Visitors generally feel that visiting the market during the day is the most immersive, while the nighttime show 'The Great Song: Dream of Tokyo' has mixed reviews; note that tickets for performances are relatively expensive, so decide according to your budget. Based on practical circumstances, time management is important—arrive at gathering points five to ten minutes early; it's better for the group to wait for you than for you to wait for the group, so no one is left waiting for you.

Day 3: Mount Song

Today, we will focus on Mount Song as the main theme, avoiding peak crowds by entering the park during off-peak hours and following the recommended route for an in-depth tour. For lunch, we will enjoy local specialties nearby, and in the afternoon, you can either explore freely or join the guide for additional sightseeing. In the evening, we will return to the hotel to rest.

Attraction Introduction: A highlight arranged in the itinerary is Mount Song. Mount Song is the central peak among the Five Great Mountains, mainly located in Dengfeng City, and is divided into the Taishi and Shaoshi Mountains, with the main peak Junji Peak reaching about 1492 meters. Its uniqueness lies in the coexistence of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism on the same mountain for a thousand years: Songyang Academy was a significant center of Neo-Confucianism during the Song dynasty, and the famous story of "Standing in the Snow at Cheng's Gate" is said to have happened here; the Zhongyue Temple is one of the largest and best-preserved temple complexes among the Five Great Mountains; the Guoxing Platform in Gaocheng Town, built under the supervision of Guo Shoujing during the Yuan dynasty, is one of the oldest existing astronomical observation structures. In 2010, the historical building complex representing "The Centre of the Heaven and Earth," including Songyang Academy, Zhongyue Temple, Songyue Pagoda, Shaolin Temple Permanent Monastery, Pagoda Forest, Chuzu Hermitage, and Guoxing Platform, was listed as a World Heritage Site. My understanding is that on the first day, there’s no need to rush—start with the academy and Zhongyue Temple to understand the ceremonial system of "the centre of heaven and earth," saving your energy for the mountain climb later. If there is extra time, going to the walkway at Sanhuang Fortress on Shaoshi Mountain to watch the sunset in the evening will be the most photogenic part of the trip.

Tips: Many mountain paths are slippery, especially downhill, so remember to shift your weight back and slow your pace; it’s recommended to bring a pair of knee guards. Most visitors report that Mount Song is worth a special visit. It is suggested to slow down, follow the guide for explanations, and leave enough time for the details that move you most and the spots that take the best photos. Considering actual conditions, when taking pictures, don’t focus only on the shot—pay attention to your feet and the surrounding environment, and make sure to firmly hold on when standing on viewing platforms or pathway edges.
