Day 1: Wangcheng Park

Setting off from the hotel early in the morning straight to Wangcheng Park, first listen to the tour guide explain the background and highlights, then explore freely at a leisurely pace and take additional photos at spots of interest; after lunch, take a short rest, and return to the hotel in the evening to accumulate energy for the next day.

Attraction Introduction: One of the highlights arranged in the itinerary is Wangcheng Park. Wangcheng Park is located at Luoyang, named because it is situated on the ruins of the Eastern Zhou royal city. It has been one of the main venues for the Peony Culture Festival of Luoyang for many years and is also the city park most familiar to Luoyang citizens. Every April, famous peony varieties such as Yao Yellow, Wei Purple, and Zhao Pink bloom in competition, creating a spectacular sea of colorful flowers; the park also preserves the ruins of the Zhou royal city and a zoo, combining historical heritage with recreational functions. It is a classic spot for tourists to check in to the ‘Peony Flower City.’ My understanding is that if you visit during the peony season (April), this place should be listed as a must-visit destination, as the mornings are less crowded and the peonies with dew are at their most delicate. Outside the flowering season, it is more suitable for a leisurely walk.

Warm Tips: The food prices in the park are relatively high, so it is advisable to bring some water and small snacks, and keep your personal belongings safe. Visitors generally feedback that most people think Wangcheng Park is worth visiting specifically. It is recommended to slow down, listen to the guide’s explanations, and leave time for the details that move you the most and the best photo spots. Based on the situation, for photography, aim for early morning or late afternoon—the soft light in the early morning with fewer people, and the golden light at sunset are the best for photos. Midday light is harsh and crowded, so it is better to rest.

Day 2: Chongdugou

Today's summer escape trip is leisurely, focusing on the vast bamboo forests and cascading waterfalls; in the afternoon, the schedule is free, and at night, stay at a farmhouse to rest.

Attraction Introduction: This stop is Chongdugou, located in Luanchuan. It is known for its extensive bamboo forests, waterfalls, and streams, as well as the farming culture of western Henan. It is one of the few 'Jiangnan water town' style summer retreat destinations in the area. The scenic area is divided into two sections: Jinji River and Dicui River. Jinji River is famous for its waterfalls, with splashing water that is refreshing and pleasant; Dicui River features continuous bamboo forests, creating a sea of greenery as you walk through. Here, you can stay at farmhouses, taste wild mountain vegetables, and experience authentic rural life in western Henan. The pace is slow, making it particularly suitable for family leisure trips and summer vacations. My understanding is to slow down the pace and not rush to see the spots—walking in the bamboo forest and sitting by the stream is the proper way to enjoy Chongdugou; visiting in summer is most comfortable, with such coolness you won’t want to leave.

Tips: Signal in the canyon may be poor, so arrange the meeting points with the guide in advance and do not move alone. Visitors generally feedback that most consider Chongdugou worth a special visit; it is recommended to slow down, follow the guide’s explanations, and save time for the most touching details and the best photo spots. In practical terms, the biggest risk on long trips is dehydration, so carry a water bottle and drink a little at a time; on the first night in highlands or mountainous areas, avoid washing your hair or taking long baths to give your body some time to adjust.

Day 3: Sui-Tang Luoyang City

Assemble in the morning and set off to Sui-Tang Luoyang City, follow the guide along the main route, visit all the key highlights, and leave enough time for photos and rest; at noon, enjoy a local specialty meal, continue exploring in the afternoon, and check into the hotel in the evening to recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attractions introduction: This stop is Sui-Tang Luoyang City. The Sui-Tang Luoyang City National Heritage Park centers around Yingtian Gate, Mingtang, and Tiantang, restoring the grandeur of the Tang Dynasty "Divine Capital" Luoyang. Yingtian Gate is the main south gate of Sui-Tang Luoyang City, majestic in scale; climbing the tower offers a view of the central axis, and at night there is a stunning light show. Mingtang was the "Palace of Myriad Phenomena" during Empress Wu Zetian's era, while Tiantang is a high tower for Buddhist rituals; the interiors of both buildings restore the luxurious furnishings of Tang Dynasty palaces. It is also pleasant to stroll along Jiuzhou Pool and imagine the grandeur of the royal gardens in the past. This place is closely associated with TV dramas such as "Wu Zetian" and "Wind Rises Luoyang," making it one of the most popular Tang culture attractions in Luoyang in recent years. My understanding is that it is essential to visit at night—the lights of Yingtian Gate and Mingtang Tiantang show what the "Divine Capital" truly looks like when illuminated; seeing the palace furnishings during the day and the light show at night offers two different experiences in one day.

Tips: The ancient capital's attractions are scattered, with a lot of walking and transfers, so it is recommended to wear comfortable flat shoes and plan your route. Visitors generally feel that most of them think Sui-Tang Luoyang City is worth a dedicated trip; it is recommended to slow down, follow the guide, and leave time for the details that move you most and the best photo spots. Considering practical circumstances, be punctual: arrive five to ten minutes early for assembly, as it is better for people to wait for the vehicle than the vehicle to wait for someone; don’t make everyone wait for you.
