Day 1: Longtan Grand Canyon

Morning visit to [0], walking along the Liubutan and Yixiantian trails close to the water, observing the wonders of the Red Rock Gorge and the phenomenon of water flowing uphill; simple lunch in the scenic area at noon, continue exploration in the afternoon, and return in the evening.

Scenic Spot Introduction: This stop is [0], located in Xin'an. It is a canyon famous for wonders such as the Red Rock Gorge and water flowing uphill, and is known as the 'Canyon Gem' and 'Natural Museum of Ancient Oceans.' Trails like Liubutan and Yixiantian are very fun for being close to the water, with red rock cliffs reflecting in clear blue pools. It is especially cool in summer and is a family-friendly water destination not far from [1] city. The canyon stretches for several kilometers, with waterfalls, deep pools, and unique rocks continuously along the way, offering a new view at each step. My understanding is that wearing a pair of non-slip creek shoes or sports shoes is most suitable, and valuables such as mobile phones should be waterproofed; families with children should slow down, choose the flatter boardwalk sections, and not rush to complete the entire route.

Warm Tips: The water-adjacent sections of the canyon are slippery, so be sure to wear non-slip creek shoes or sports shoes, and waterproof valuables such as phones. Visitors generally report that most think [0] is worth making a special trip for. It is recommended to slow down, follow the guide for explanations, and leave time for the details that move you the most and the best photo spots. Depending on the actual situation, joining a tour is best not done in a rush; listening to the guide is the essence. The cultural stories behind each scenic spot are often more memorable than photos. Don’t hesitate to ask the guide on the spot if something is unclear.

Day 2: Wangcheng Park

Set off from the hotel early in the morning directly to Wangcheng Park, first listen to the guide explain the background and highlights, then enjoy a leisurely walk and take additional photos at spots of interest; after lunch, take a short rest, and return to the hotel in the evening to accumulate energy for the next day.

Attraction Introduction: One of the highlights arranged in the itinerary is Wangcheng Park. Wangcheng Park is located at Luoyang, named because it is situated on the ruins of the Eastern Zhou royal city. It has been one of the main venues for the Peony Culture Festival of Luoyang for many years and is also the city park most familiar to the citizens of Luoyang. Every April, famous varieties of peonies such as Yao Huang, Wei Zi, and Zhao Fen bloom in competition, displaying a magnificent array of colors; the park also preserves the ruins of the Zhou royal city and a zoo, combining historical significance with recreational functions, making it a classic destination for tourists visiting the "Peony Flower City." In my understanding, if you come during the peony season (April), this place should definitely be on your must-visit list, as it is less crowded in the early morning and the peonies are most delicate with dew; outside the flowering season, it is more suitable for a leisurely walk.

Warm Tips: The food prices in the park are relatively high, so it is appropriate to bring some water and small snacks, and be careful to keep your belongings safe. Tourist feedback generally indicates that most visitors think Wangcheng Park is worth visiting specifically; it is recommended to slow down, follow the guide's explanations, and leave time for the details that move you most and the best spots for photos. Considering the actual situation, if you want authentic food, go deeper into the alleys, as the main entrance of the scenic area tends to have long queues and the taste is average; when buying local specialties, ask the price first and compare, as local supermarkets often offer more reliable products.

Day 3: Laojun Mountain

Today's deep tour: After taking the cable car up the mountain, we will focus on visiting the Golden Summit, Ten-Mile Painted Screen, and the Glass Viewing Platform, while following a guide to learn about Taoist culture and the geology of the Funiu Mountains; in the afternoon, we will descend and rest to recharge for the next day.

Attractions introduction: One highlight of the itinerary is the Golden Summit, located in Luanchuan County, it is the main peak of the Funiu Mountains and also a famous Taoist mountain, rumored to be the place where Laozi, the founder of Taoism, retired and cultivated. The Taoist temple complex on the Golden Summit stands over 2,000 meters above sea level, with golden tiles and red walls, surrounded by a rolling sea of clouds, earning the reputation of "a spectacular feast in the mortal world, a glimpse of the beauty of the world." The Ten-Mile Painted Screen is the highlight of the entire trip, a high-altitude plank road suspended on a cliff that offers constantly changing scenery, providing panoramic views of peak forests, sea of clouds, and the sunrise. You can take a two-stage cable car up the mountain; on a clear day, you can see the sea of clouds and sunrise from the summit, and in winter it is a very popular place in the Central Plains for snow viewing. My suggestion is to take the cable car early to secure the best light for the Golden Summit and Ten-Mile Painted Screen; the summit is windy and cold, so a windbreaker and thermos are essential, and those afraid of heights should not force themselves to go on the glass viewing platform.

Tips: Many mountain paths are slippery, especially downhill, so keep your center of gravity back and slow your pace; knee pads are recommended. Visitors generally agree that the sea of clouds and sunrise at the Golden Summit are the main highlights, and many people stay overnight at the summit to catch dawn. Remember that there are big temperature differences at the summit and long queues for the cable car, so during peak seasons it is crucial to start early. According to personal condition, manage your energy, tackle the highlights in the morning when you are fresh, and slow down in the afternoon; don’t exhaust yourself on the first day, or you won’t have energy for the following days.

Day 4: Only Henan

Spend the whole day immersed in 《Only Henan·Theatrical Phantom City》, watching multiple performances according to the schedule, and understanding the hardships and harvests of the Central Plains through the imagery of the wheat waves; have lunch in the park at noon, and return after watching the main show in the evening.

Attraction Introduction: A major highlight in the itinerary is Only Henan. Located in Zhongmu, Only Henan·Theatrical Phantom City is a massive theatrical settlement built with loess. Through more than twenty theaters and nearly a hundred performances, it presents the hardship, harvest, and resilience of Central Plains civilization. The main theaters, such as 'Phantom City,' 'Train Station,' and 'Li Family Village,' are highly acclaimed, while the smaller theaters are each creatively designed, with the imagery of wheat waves running throughout. It is a phenomenal cultural and tourism landmark of Henan. This is not a traditional attraction but an immersive cultural experience. My understanding is that you should reserve a whole day, plan the main show first, and then fit in the smaller theaters; book tickets in advance through official channels and check the performance schedule carefully, as popular shows often sell out.

Tips: The canyon water sections are slippery, so be sure to wear non-slip creek shoes or sneakers, and protect valuables like your phone from water. Visitors generally feel that the immersive experience of the Theatrical Phantom City is popular with young people, but tickets are expensive and it takes time; it is recommended to select the core theaters and set aside at least half a day. Follow actual circumstances, respect local customs, dress appropriately when entering religious sites, and avoid pointing at things casually—a friendly greeting can exchange for goodwill.
