Day 1: Jiaozuo

Gather in the morning and depart for Erlitou, follow the guide along the main route, visit the highlights one by one, and allow ample time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, continue deeper in the afternoon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: Today's itinerary includes Jiaozuo attractions, Jiaozuo and the Yuntai Mountain Global Geopark, the red cliffs of Hongshi Gorge, the clear waters of Dan Cliff, the flying waterfalls of Tanpu Gorge, and the sunrise over Zhuyu Peak, all of which are the essence of Taihang's landscape. My understanding is that hiking should be done within your means. Cable cars should be saved wherever possible, but those with bad knees shouldn't force themselves to hike. The scenery is not about forcing yourself.

Friendly reminder: The mountain area has large temperature differences between morning and evening, and the wind at the summit is strong. A windproof jacket and warm inner layer are very necessary. Visitors generally report that Jiaozuo is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down and follow the guide to listen to the explanation, saving time for the most impressive details and the best camera angles. Considering the situation, be punctual. Gather five to ten minutes early. Better to wait for the bus than for the car; don't make everyone wait for you.

Day 2: Erlitou

Enter Longmen Grottoes early and take advantage of fewer people to first visit Binyang Three Caves and Lotus Cave, then climb Fengxian Temple to pay respects to the Buddha; Have a nearby lunch at noon, then in the afternoon visit Dongshan Grottoes and Xiangshan Temple, and at sunset take photos by the Yi River to end a fulfilling day.

Attraction introduction: Today's itinerary includes Erlitou attractions. The Erlitou site is located in Luoyang Yanshi, praised by scholars as the "Earliest China." It is a large capital site from the mid to late Xia Dynasty, where turquoise dragon-shaped artifacts, bronze jue, bronze ding vessels, and other heavy artifacts were unearthed, revealing the appearance of China's first royal capital. The turquoise dragon-shaped artifact is made from over two thousand turquoise shards embedded and is known as the "Number One Dragon of Huaxia," serving as important evidence of Chinese dragon worship. Erlitou The site museum presents the site with an archaeological sense and is an unmissable stop for studying the origins of Chinese civilization. My understanding is that before visiting, first understand the academic controversy surrounding the "Xia Capital," then look at the exhibits to gain a deeper understanding; The museum's exhibits are carefully crafted and worth a leisurely view.

Friendly reminder: The mountain roads have many slippery spots, so pay special attention to shifting your weight back and slowing down on the downhill. A pair of knee pads is recommended. Visitors generally report that Erlitou is worth a special trip. It's recommended to slow down and follow the guide's explanation, saving time for the most impressive details and the best camera spots. Based on actual conditions, don't just focus on getting good photos when taking photos; pay attention to your footing and surroundings. Be sure to stand firmly on the viewing platform and the edges of the boardwalk.

Day 3: Longmen Grottoes

Today's Guoliang Village Taihang trip focuses on the cliff-hanging road and the film village, then enjoy distant views of the canyon village; Afternoon reshoot, evening rest.

Attraction introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Longmen Grottoes, carved into the cliff faces south of Luoyang on both banks of the Yi River. Since Emperor Xiaowen of Northern Wei moved the capital to Luoyang, construction has continued through the Eastern Wei, Western Wei, Northern Qi, Sui, and Tang dynasties. There are currently over 2,300 cave niches, over 100,000 statues, and more than 2,800 inscriptions and inscriptions. The most impressive is the Vairocana Buddha at Fengxian Temple, standing over 17 meters tall, with a plump face and kind-looking eyes. Legend has it that it was carved after Wu Zetian's appearance and represents the pinnacle of Tang dynasty stone carving art. Along with Dunhuang Mogao Caves and Datong's Yungang Caves, it is known as one of China's three great grottoes and a World Cultural Heritage site. When touring, head south along the Yi River trail from the Xishan Grottoes, where Binyang Three Caves, Ten Thousand Buddha Caves, and Lotus Cave each have highlights. Cross the bridge to the Dongshan Buddha Worship Platform for a panoramic view. My understanding is that in the morning, first visit the main cave of Xishan and admire the Big Buddha while there are fewer people; in the afternoon, go to the Dongshan Viewing Platform for the best lighting and angle; If you need to walk backward along both banks of the Yi River, a pair of comfortable shoes can save you a lot of effort.

Friendly reminder: Visiting the grottoes mainly involves walking and steps. It is recommended to wear non-slip, comfortable shoes, travel light, and watch your steps along both banks of the Yi River. Visitors generally report that most find the Vairocana Buddha the most impressive, and the best light at sunset on the western hills; If you need to walk back along both banks of the Yi River, it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes and reserve half a day. Depending on the actual situation, it's best to take photos early or late—the best photos are taken when there are fewer people in the morning, and the golden glow at dusk is the best. At noon, the top light is cramped and flat, so it's more cost-effective to rest.
