Day 1: Longmen Grottoes

In the morning, head to Longmen Grottoes, follow the Yihe trail from the Xishan Grottoes to closely admire the Fengxian Temple Vairocana Buddha, then cross the bridge to the Dongshan Buddha Platform for a panoramic view; At noon, enjoy the Luoyang water feast, visit Xiangshan Temple and Baiyuan in the afternoon, and return to the hotel in the evening.

Attraction introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Longmen Grottoes, carved into the cliffs on both banks of the Yi River south of Luoyang city. Since Emperor Xiaowen of Northern Wei moved the capital to Luoyang, construction has continued through Eastern Wei, Western Wei, Northern Qi, Sui, Tang, and other dynasties. There are over 2,300 cave niches, over 100,000 statues, and more than 2,800 inscriptions and inscriptions preserved. The most impressive is the Vairocana Buddha at Fengxian Temple, standing over 17 meters tall, with a plump face and benevolent eyes. Legend has it that it was carved after Wu Zetian's likeness, marking the pinnacle of Tang dynasty stone carving art. Along with Dunhuang Mogao Caves and Datong Yungang, it is one of China's three great grottoes and a World Cultural Heritage site. When touring, head south along the Yi River trail from the Xishan Grottoes, where Binyang Three Caves, Ten Thousand Buddha Caves, and Lotus Cave each have highlights. Cross the bridge to the Dongshan Buddha Worship Platform for a panoramic view. My understanding is that in the morning, first visit the main cave of Xishan and admire the Big Buddha while there are fewer people; in the afternoon, go to the Dongshan Viewing Platform for the best lighting and angle; If you need to walk backward along both banks of the Yi River, a pair of comfortable shoes can save you a lot of effort.

Friendly reminder: Grottoes are mostly built on cliffs. When viewing, keep your distance from the cliff face, hold the railings properly, and take care of the elderly and children. Visitors generally report that most find the Vairocana Buddha the most breathtaking, and the sunset at Xishan is the most photogenic; If you need to walk back along both banks of the Yi River, it's recommended to wear comfortable shoes and allow half a day. Based on actual circumstances, don't shop impulsively. If you see a "limited-time offer," take a three-minute coolhead; If you really want to bring souvenirs, choose reputable stores and keep your receipts for peace of mind.

Day 2: Baiyun Mountain

Early in the morning, climb to the Yuhuang Peak to wait for the sea of clouds and sunrise, then visit Jiulong Waterfall; In the afternoon, walk along forest trails—escape the heat in summer, enjoy the autumn leaves, and return at dusk.

Attraction introduction: This stop is Baiyun Mountain, located deep in Funiu Mountain in Song County. Yuhuang Peak offers views of clouds and sunrise, with high forest coverage and abundant negative oxygen ions, making it a natural oxygen bar. Within the scenic area, Jiulong Waterfall and the alpine peony garden each have their own unique features. Summer retreats and autumn leaf viewing make them rare high-altitude resort destinations. Taking the cable car or scenic shuttle connects various points, with wide views and swirling clouds at the summit, resembling a fairyland. My understanding is that summer is the best time to escape the heat, with the mountain coolness contrasting sharply with the city's scorching heat; Climbing Yuhuang Peak early to watch the sea of clouds and sunrise requires a bit of luck, but even if you can't see the sunrise, the mountain scenery in the morning mist is still beautiful.

Friendly reminder: The climbing route has many steps and steep slopes, so be sure to wear non-slip sports shoes. Those with mobility difficulties are advised to take the cable car up and down. Visitors generally report that most believe Baiyun Mountain is worth a special trip. It's recommended to slow down, follow the guide, and listen to the explanation, saving time for the most impressive details and the best camera angles. Based on actual circumstances, separate documents and wallets. Take photos of important documents and keep them on your phone for backup. If lost, you can quickly reissue them without delaying your trip.

Day 3: Only Henan

Today's Only Henan in-depth experience, with a whole day reserved to follow the plot and focus on main dramas and well-received short dramas; Dining and rest in the park will end in the evening.

Attraction introduction: One of the highlights included in the itinerary is Only Henan. "Only Henan·Drama Fantasy City" is located in Zhengzhou Zhongmu. It is a massive theater settlement built from rammed earth, featuring over twenty theaters and nearly a hundred performances, presenting the hardships, harvests, and resilience of Central Plains civilization. The main theaters, such as "Ice Fantasy," "Train Station," and "Lijia Village," are highly acclaimed, while the small theaters are creatively designed, with wheat waves running throughout, making them a phenomenon-level calling card for Henan cultural tourism. This is not a traditional attraction, but an immersive cultural experience. My understanding is to reserve a whole day for the main play before interspersing with the small theater; Book tickets in advance through official channels and check the performance schedule; popular shows are often fully booked.

Friendly reminder: The canyon trail is adjacent to water and cliffs. Do not climb over guardrails or play in dangerous areas, and watch out for accompanying children. Visitors generally report that the immersive experience in Drama Fantasy City is loved by young people, but tickets are expensive and time-consuming; Reminder: Choose the core theater and reserve at least half a day. Depending on the situation, bring some change and small packs of snacks to help when the scenic area has poor signal or needs to be replenished temporarily. Don't wait until you're hungry.

The Laojun Mountain ticket holds for two days, so this route splits the climb in half: the cliff walkway on the first afternoon, the summit and its cloud early the next morning. Between them, a bamboo valley and a limestone cave that sits at eighteen degrees when the mountain air turns cold.
