Day 1: Only Henan

Early in the morning, enter the Drama Fantasy City, first watch the main theater performances, then visit the small theaters; in the afternoon, freely choose sessions and immerse yourself in the civilization of Central China, then return in the evening.

Attraction Introduction: A major highlight of the itinerary is Drama Fantasy City. Located in Zhongmu, it is a huge theatrical settlement built with rammed earth. Through more than twenty theaters and nearly a hundred performances, it showcases the hardships, harvests, and resilience of Central Plains civilization. The main theater performances such as "Fantasy City," "Train Station," and "Li Family Village" have excellent reputations. The small theaters each have their own ingenuity, with the wheat field imagery running throughout, making it a phenomenal cultural tourism landmark. This is not a traditional scenic spot, but an immersive cultural experience. My suggestion is to reserve a full day, first schedule the main theater shows, and then intersperse visits to the small theaters; book tickets in advance through official channels and check the performance schedule carefully, as popular shows often sell out quickly.

Tips: The water-access areas in the canyon are slippery, so be sure to wear anti-slip creek shoes or sports shoes, and protect valuables like mobile phones from water. Visitors generally say that younger people love the immersive experience at Drama Fantasy City, but the tickets are expensive and the visit is time-consuming; it is recommended to focus on the main theaters and allow at least half a day. Depending on your situation, if you want authentic food, go deeper into the alleys, as the queues at the main entrance are long and the taste is average. For specialties, ask for prices before comparing, as local supermarkets often offer more genuine products.

Day 2: Guoliang Village

Today's Taihang trip focuses on the cliff-hanging road and the film and television village, with a distant view of the canyon village; afternoon shooting, evening rest.

Attraction introduction: A highlight arranged in the itinerary is Guoliang Village, Guoliang Village is hidden on the sheer cliffs deep in the Taihang Mountains and is world-famous for the 'cliff-hanging road'—in the 1970s, villagers spent more than five years chiseling a tunnel about 1,300 meters long on the cliff without any large machinery, creating a miracle of 'modern-day Yu Gong' (the Foolish Old Man who moved mountains). This cliff-hanging road is now the most hardcore spot in the Taihang Mountains, where walking along it offers a view of the abyss and canyon villages. Guoliang Village is also called the 'Chinese Film and Television Village' due to being used as a filming location for several movies and TV dramas. My suggestion is to allow enough time when walking the cliff-hanging road, watch and take photos while paying attention to your steps and passing vehicles; the light is best in the early morning or evening, while at noon it is rather flat. Wear anti-slip shoes and don’t get too close to the cliff wall.

Tips: The streets of the ancient town are crisscrossed and easy to get lost in, so remember meeting times and notable landmarks. Visitors generally report that the cliff-top stone village is connected to the cliff-hanging road, and the filming locations have a built-in sense of story; note that village food and lodging are simple, so lower your expectations to enjoy it more. According to your actual condition, allocate energy wisely: visit the highlights in the morning when you're energetic, slow down in the afternoon, and don’t exhaust yourself on the first day, or you’ll have no energy for the following days.

Day 3: Wanxian Mountain

Assemble in the morning and depart for Wanxian Mountain. Follow the tour guide along the main route, visiting all the key highlights one by one, allowing ample time for taking photos and resting. At noon, enjoy local specialty dishes, then continue exploring in the afternoon. In the evening, check into the hotel to rest and prepare for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: One of the main highlights in the itinerary is Wanxian Mountain. The Wanxian Mountain Scenic Area is located deep in the Taihang Mountains of Huixian. Within it are the Guoliang Hanging Road and Nanping Danfeng Gorge, with red cliffs and clear waterfalls intertwined, making it one of the most representative landscape galleries of the Taihang Mountains. This area is well-known for being featured in several films and TV shows. Attractions such as Guoliang Village, Tianchi, and the watchtowers form an impressive Taihang hiking route. The temperature in summer is pleasant, and it is a place where you can get close to the Taihang landscape, not far from Zhengzhou and Luoyang. My understanding is that the hike involves a lot of walking and many steps, so wearing non-slip shoes is essential; be careful of traffic on the hanging road section, and the red cliffs look best in photos during early morning or evening light.

Tips: Many mountain paths are slippery, especially when going downhill, so shift your center of gravity back and slow your pace. You may want to bring knee pads. Tourists generally report that the hanging road (Guoliang Tunnel) is the most impressive and photogenic, while mountain roads may cause motion sickness; it's recommended to bring motion sickness medication and take your time on viewing platforms. Respecting local customs is important; in religious sites, dress appropriately and avoid pointing casually — a simple greeting can bring goodwill.

Transfer to the station/airport per your departure, ending a pleasant journey.

Friendly tips: Pack the night before and keep ID, power bank and souvenirs together; allow extra time for the station/airport; bring your ID and stay with your guide, noting the meeting time and place. Traveler feedback — Return-day travelers remind: pack ID and souvenirs the night before; allow extra time. Practical note — Return-day tip: pack ID, power bank and souvenirs the night before; allow extra time—mountain roads are unpredictable.
