Day 1: Mount Song

Set off early from the hotel straight to Mount Song, first listening to the tour guide's introduction of the background and highlights, then enjoy a leisurely free walk and take extra photos based on your interests; after lunch, take a short rest, and return to the hotel in the evening to save energy for the next day.

Attraction Introduction: This stop is at Mount Song. Mount Song is the central mountain of the Five Great Mountains, divided into Taishi and Shaoshi Mountains. It is a convergence of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, and the historical buildings of the “Center of Heaven and Earth” have been listed as a World Heritage Site. You can climb the steep peaks to enjoy distant views, visit Songyang Academy, Zhongyue Temple, and the Astronomical Observatory, experiencing the fusion of Chinese ritual systems and mountains. Among these, Shaolin Temple, Songyang Academy, and Zhongyue Temple are most worth a careful look.

Tips: The itinerary includes mountain roads, with large temperature differences in the morning and evening and many stairs, so it is recommended to wear a light jacket and non-slip sports shoes, and be careful on the stairs; be sure to bring your ID and other valid documents, follow the tour guide closely, and remember the meeting times and locations. Most tourists think Mount Song is worth a special visit. It is recommended to slow down, listen to the guide, and save time for the details that move you most and the best photo spots. Depending on the actual situation, the best times for photos are early morning or late afternoon—fewer people and soft light in the morning, golden glow at dusk; in the noon peak light is harsh and crowded, so it is better to rest then.

Day 2: Wanxian Mountain

Today, the theme is Wanxian Mountain. Avoid peak crowds and enter the park during off-peak hours. Follow the recommended route for an in-depth tour; have lunch nearby to enjoy local flavors, and in the afternoon, engage in free activities or join the guide for additional sightseeing. In the evening, return to the hotel to rest.

Attraction Introduction: One highlight arranged in the itinerary is Wanxian Mountain. Wanxian Mountain includes Guoliang and Nanping, where cliff roads and cliffside villages complement each other. It is extraordinarily spectacular and suitable for photography and hiking, being one of the most photogenic hidden spots deep in the Taihang Mountains. Among them, Guoliang Village, Nanping, and Luo Jiezhai are most worth a close look.

Tips: The route includes mountainous sections, with significant temperature differences between morning and evening and numerous steps. It is recommended to wear a light jacket and non-slip sneakers, and pay attention when going up and down steps. Be sure to bring your ID and other valid documents, follow the guide throughout, and remember the meeting times and places. Visitors generally feedback that the cliff road (Guoliang Tunnel) is the most impressive and photogenic, while mountain roads often cause motion sickness. Bring motion sickness medicine and walk slowly while viewing the scenery. Depending on the situation, the Guoliang Village cliff road is a man-made wonder, making self-driving or chartered vehicles more convenient; those prone to motion sickness should prepare medication for twisting mountain roads.

Day 3: Yuntai Mountain

Arrive in the morning, take the sightseeing shuttle bus to first visit Hongshi Gorge and its Danxia formations, then proceed to Tanpu Gorge to see the cascading waterfalls; have a simple lunch in the scenic area at noon, and in the afternoon climb Zhuyu Peak or take a stroll along Quanzhu Waterfall Gorge, returning to the hotel in the evening.

Scenic Spot Introduction: Today's itinerary includes several scenic spots. One of them is a Global Geopark. Hongshi Gorge features red cliffs and clear waters, Tanpu Gorge has cascading waterfalls and flowing streams, and Zhuyu Peak offers sea-of-clouds views and sunrises. The trails and cableways complement each other, making this a grand showcase of the Taihang Mountains and a great summer getaway. Among these, Hongshi Gorge, Tanpu Gorge, and Quanzhu Waterfall Gorge (Yuntai Sky Waterfall) are especially worth paying close attention to.

Tips: The itinerary includes mountain road sections; there is a significant temperature difference between morning and evening, and many steps, so it is recommended to wear a light jacket and non-slip sports shoes, and watch your step when going up and down. Be sure to bring your ID and other valid documents, follow the guide, and remember the meeting times and locations. Tourists generally report that Hongshi Gorge is considered the most photogenic section, and the sea of clouds at Zhuyu Peak is also worth seeing. Note that lines for sightseeing buses can be long; if you cannot visit all sites in one day, prioritize Hongshi Gorge and Monkey Valley. Based on actual conditions, mountain weather can change rapidly, so bring a light jacket. The sightseeing buses connect each spot, and during peak season, parking and cableway lines are noticeable, so entering the park early allows for a more relaxed experience.
