Day 1: Erlitou

Assemble in the morning and depart for Erlitou, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing enough time for taking photos and resting; have a lunch tasting local specialties, check in to the hotel in the evening, and replenish energy for the next day’s itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: Today's itinerary includes Erlitou attractions. The Erlitou ruins are located in Luoyang Yanshi and are recognized by scholars as 'the earliest China.' It is a large city site from the mid-to-late Xia Dynasty, with excavations including turquoise dragon-shaped artifacts, bronze jues, bronze ding, and other significant items, revealing the appearance of the first capital of Huaxia. The turquoise dragon-shaped artifact is inlaid with over 2,000 pieces of turquoise and is known as 'the first dragon of Huaxia,' serving as an important evidence of Chinese dragon worship. The Erlitou Ruins Museum presents the archaeological site in a realistic way and is an essential stop for studying the origins of Chinese civilization. My understanding is that visiting the site after first learning about the academic controversies regarding the 'Xia capital' will provide a deeper understanding when viewing the exhibits. The museum’s displays are meticulously arranged and worth taking your time to explore.

Tips: The mountain climbing sections have many steps and steep slopes, so it is essential to wear non-slip sports shoes; those with mobility issues are advised to take the cable car up and down. Visitors generally feel that most would consider Erlitou worth a special visit, so it is recommended to slow down, follow the guide’s commentary, and save time for the details that move you the most and the best photo spots. Given the actual situation, mountain weather can change suddenly, so having a windproof jacket is more practical than anything else; shoes must be non-slip and comfortable—it's better to take fewer photos than to twist your ankle.

Day 2: Wangcheng Park

Assemble in the morning and depart for Wangcheng Park, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing enough time for photos and rest; enjoy a local specialty meal at noon, check in to the hotel in the evening, and replenish your energy for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: One of the highlights of the itinerary is Wangcheng Park. Wangcheng Park is located in Luoyang and is named because it sits on the site of the Eastern Zhou royal city. It is one of the main venues for the Chinese Luoyang Peony Culture Festival and is also the city park most familiar to the residents of Luoyang. Every April, famous peony varieties like Yao Huang, Wei Zi, and Zhao Fen bloom in the park, displaying a spectacular array of colors; the park also preserves the ruins of the Zhou royal city and a zoo, combining historical depth with leisure functions. It is a classic spot for tourists to visit the 'Peony Flower City.' In my understanding, if visiting during the peony season (April), this place should definitely be on your must-visit list. Early morning sees fewer people, and the dewy peonies are at their most delicate; off-season, it is more suitable for a leisurely walk.

Tips: Dining inside the park is relatively expensive, so it is appropriate to bring water and small snacks and take care of your personal belongings. Tourists generally feedback that most visitors think Wangcheng Park is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down, follow the guide for explanations, and leave time for the details that move you the most and the best photo spots. Depending on the situation, avoid impulsive shopping; when you see 'limited-time offers,' wait calmly for three minutes first. If you really want to buy souvenirs, choose official stores and keep receipts for peace of mind.

Day 3: Sui-Tang Luoyang City

Gather in the morning and depart for Sui-Tang Luoyang City, follow the tour guide to visit the core attractions, allowing ample time for taking photos and resting; enjoy a local specialty meal at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge to prepare for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: This stop is Sui-Tang Luoyang City. Sui-Tang Luoyang City National Heritage Park centers around Ying Tian Gate, Ming Tang, and Heaven Palace, restoring the grandeur of the Tang Dynasty's "Divine Capital" Luoyang palaces. Ying Tian Gate is the main southern gate of Sui-Tang Luoyang City, magnificent in scale; from the tower you can overlook the central axis, and at night there is a stunning light show. Ming Tang was the "Palace of All Phenomena" during Wu Zetian's reign, while Heaven Palace is a high tower used for Buddhist rites, with both buildings restoring the luxurious interior settings of the Tang Dynasty court. The banks of Jiuzhou Pool are also ideal for leisurely walks, allowing you to imagine the grandeur of the royal gardens of the past. This site is closely associated with TV dramas like "Wu Zetian" and "Feng Qi Luoyang" and has become in recent years one of the most popular spots for Tang Dynasty cultural check-ins. My recommendation is to definitely take a night tour — when the lights first come on, the illuminations at Ying Tian Gate, Ming Tang, and Heaven Palace show what the "Divine Capital" truly looked like; see the palace interiors during the day and enjoy the light show at night for two different experiences in one day.

Tips: The ancient city offers a variety of night tour programs. When going out at night, dress warmly and remember the meeting point. Visitors generally report that most believe Sui-Tang Luoyang City is worth making a special trip for; it is recommended to slow down, follow the guide for explanations, and leave time to focus on the details that move you most and the best spots for photos. According to actual circumstances, keep identification documents and wallets separately, take photos of important documents and store backup copies on your phone, so that in case of loss, you can quickly replace them without affecting your trip.
