Day 1: Baiyun Mountain

Gather in the morning and depart for Baiyun Mountain. Follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing ample time for taking photos and resting; enjoy a local specialty meal at noon, and check into the hotel in the evening to recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: This stop is Baiyun Mountain. Baiyun Mountain is located in the heart of Funiu Mountain in Song County. From Yuhuang Peak, you can view the sea of clouds at sunrise. With a high forest coverage rate and abundant negative oxygen ions, it is a natural oxygen bar. Within the scenic area, Jiulong Waterfall and the Alpine Peony Garden each have their own unique charm. It is an excellent mountain resort for summer cooling and autumn leaf viewing, making it a rare high-mountain vacation destination in Henan. You can connect various points via cable car or scenic shuttle bus. The mountaintop has wide views and misty clouds, resembling a fairyland. In my opinion, visiting in summer for a cool retreat is most worthwhile; the coolness in the mountains contrasts sharply with the heat in the city. Waking up early to climb Yuhuang Peak for the sunrise over the sea of clouds requires a bit of luck, but even if you miss the sunrise, the morning fog over the mountains is beautiful enough.

Friendly Tips: Many mountain paths are slippery, especially on the downhill sections, so be careful to shift your center of gravity back and slow your pace; consider bringing a pair of knee pads. Visitors generally report that most think Baiyun Mountain is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down your pace, listen to the guide’s commentary, and reserve time for the details that move you the most and the best spots for photos. According to the situation, carry some small change and individually packaged snacks, as the scenic area may have poor signal or limited temporary supplies—don’t wait until you’re hungry to look for them.

Day 2: White Horse Temple

In the morning, gather and depart for White Horse Temple, follow the tour guide to visit the main attractions, allowing ample time for taking photos and resting; at noon, enjoy local specialty meals, and in the evening, check into the hotel to recharge for the next day’s itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: One of the highlights of the itinerary is White Horse Temple. White Horse Temple is located in the eastern part of Luoyang City and was originally built during the Yongping era of the Eastern Han Dynasty to commemorate the transportation of Buddhist scriptures by white horses and the initial introduction of Buddhism to the Central Plains. It is revered as the "First Ancient Temple of China" and is the first government-sponsored temple built after Buddhism was introduced to China. Within the temple, Qiyun Pagoda Courtyard, the Great Buddha Hall, and the Hall of Heavenly Kings are arranged along the central axis, with incense burning continuously among red walls and cypress trees for over two thousand years. It is worth mentioning that the temple also features foreign-style Buddha halls donated by Myanmar, Thailand, India, and other countries, showcasing a unique landscape of Buddhism spreading eastward and returning. My understanding is to first see the main hall on the central axis, then go around to the Qiyun Pagoda Courtyard, and finally visit the side foreign-style Buddha halls to experience cultural integration; arriving early in the morning when it’s less crowded and sunlight falls on the red walls and ancient cypresses gives the best ambiance and avoids peak tour group crowds.

Tips: Please maintain quietness and dress neatly when entering the temple. Generally, photography is not allowed inside the halls, and the sacred objects should not be touched; contributions are voluntary. Visitors generally report that the foreign-style Buddha halls (Thai/Burmese/Indian Courtyards) are highly photogenic and feel more spacious than expected; note that the international temple area requires considerable walking, so reserve some energy. Based on actual conditions, mountain weather can change suddenly, so a windproof jacket is always practical; choose shoes that are slip-resistant and comfortable, better to take fewer photos than to twist an ankle.

Day 3: Yin Ruins

Gather in the morning and depart for Yin Ruins, follow the tour guide to visit the core attractions, allowing ample time for taking photos and resting; have a local specialty meal at noon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge to prepare for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction Introduction: Today’s itinerary includes Yin Ruins attractions. Yin Ruins is the Late Shang Dynasty capital ruins, located in Anyang, known as the birthplace of oracle bone script, and also the site where the Houmuwu Ding (originally called Simuwu Ding) was unearthed. It was listed as a World Cultural Heritage site in 2006. This was the capital after King Pan Geng of the Shang Dynasty moved to Yin, lasting over 270 years. The palace and temple ruins, royal tombs area, and chariot and horse pits are clearly visible. Oracle bone script was first discovered here, extending China's verifiable historical records back to the Shang Dynasty. The new museum at Yin Ruins systematically displays bronze wares, jade artifacts, and oracle bones, providing the most intuitive way to understand Shang civilization. My understanding is that seeing the palace and temple ruins and chariot and horse pits first helps establish a spatial concept, then entering the museum to closely examine the artifacts completes the experience. Oracle bones and heavy bronzes are highlights, and following the guide is far more enriching than just browsing.

Tips: The mountain area has large temperature differences between morning and evening, and the summit can be windy. A windproof jacket and warm inner layers are necessary. Visitors generally feedback that the oracle bones and Simuwu Ding make history come alive, and many say the new museum is more worthwhile than the open-air ruins; it is recommended to visit with the guide for better understanding. Based on practical experience, avoid impulsive shopping; if you see a 'limited-time offer,' calm down for three minutes first. If you want to buy souvenirs, choose official stores and keep receipts for peace of mind.
