Jiaozuo 3-Day Tour: Baiyun Mountain & Wanxianshan
Jiaozuo 3-day tour covering Baiyun Mountain and Wanxianshan. Sightseeing tickets and shuttle bus included.
Highlights
Day 1: Baiyun Mountain
Today's Baiyun Mountain vacation trip: take the cable car to connect Yuhuang Peak, Jiulong Waterfall, and the alpine peony garden, with a relaxed pace; Free time in the afternoon, rest in the evening.
Attraction introduction: This stop is Baiyun Mountain, located deep in Funiu Mountain in Song County. Yuhuang Peak offers views of clouds and sunrise, with high forest coverage and abundant negative oxygen ions, making it a natural oxygen bar. Within the scenic area, Jiulong Waterfall and the alpine peony garden each have their own unique features. Summer retreats and autumn leaf viewing make them rare high-altitude resort destinations. Taking the cable car or scenic shuttle connects various points, with wide views and swirling clouds at the summit, resembling a fairyland. My understanding is that summer is the best time to escape the heat, with the mountain coolness contrasting sharply with the city's scorching heat; Climbing Yuhuang Peak early to watch the sea of clouds and sunrise requires a bit of luck, but even if you can't see the sunrise, the mountain scenery in the morning mist is still beautiful.
Friendly reminder: The mountain area has large temperature differences between morning and evening, and the wind at the summit is strong. A windproof jacket and warm inner layer are very necessary. Visitors generally report that most believe Baiyun Mountain is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down and follow the guide to listen to the explanation, saving time for the most moving details and the best camera angles. Based on actual circumstances, the biggest fear of group tours is skimming the skies; listening to the explanations is the essence. The cultural stories behind each attraction are often more memorable than photos. If you don't understand something, ask the guide on the spot.
Day 2: Wanxian Mountain
Gather in the morning and depart for Wanxian Mountain. Follow the guide along the main route, visiting the highlights one by one, leaving enough time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, continue deeper in the afternoon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.
Attraction introduction: One of the highlights included in the itinerary is Wanxian Mountain. Wanxian Mountain is located deep within the Taihang Mountains in Huixian, with the Guoliang Cliff Highway and Nanpingdan Valley. The red cliffs intertwine with waterfalls and clear pools, making it one of the most iconic landscape galleries of the Taihang Mountains. This area is famous for filming many TV dramas. Attractions like Guoliang Village, Tianchi, and Fortresses form a stunning Taihang hiking route. The summer temperatures are pleasant, making it a place not far from Zhengzhou and Luoyang that you can get close to the Taihang landscape. My understanding is that the hike is heavy and there are many steps, so be sure to wear non-slip shoes; Watch out for passing vehicles along the cliff-hanging road; early morning and evening light makes the red cliffs the best for photos.
Friendly reminder: There are many slippery mountain roads, so especially when going downhill, pay attention to shifting your weight back and slowing down. It's a good idea to have a pair of knee pads. Visitors generally report that the cliff-hanging road (Guoliang Cave) is the most impressive and photogenic, and the mountain roads often make people feel carsick; Prepare motion sickness medicine and walk slowly on the viewing platform to take care. Based on actual conditions, if you want authentic food, head deeper into the alleys; the main entrance of the scenic area has long lines and average taste; Ask about prices before comparing local specialties, and local supermarkets are often more authentic.
Day 3: Departure
Transfer to the station/airport per your departure, ending a pleasant journey.
Friendly tips: Pack the night before and keep ID, power bank and souvenirs together; allow extra time for the station/airport; bring your ID and stay with your guide, noting the meeting time and place. Traveler feedback — Return-day travelers remind: pack ID and souvenirs the night before; allow extra time. Practical note — Return-day tip: pack ID, power bank and souvenirs the night before; allow extra time—mountain roads are unpredictable.
