Day 1: Wangcheng Park

Gather in the morning and depart for Wangcheng Park, follow the guide along the main route, visit the highlights one by one, and allow plenty of time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, continue deeper in the afternoon, check in at the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Wangcheng Park. Wangcheng Park is located on Luoyang, named for its location atop the ruins of the Eastern Zhou royal city. It has been one of the main venues for the China Luoyang Peony Culture Festival and is the most familiar city park to Luoyang residents. Every April, famous peonies such as Yao Huang, Wei Purple, and Zhao Pink bloom in a dazzling display of vibrant colors; The park also preserves the ruins of Zhou King's City and a zoo, combining historical heritage with leisure functions, making it a classic spot for visitors to check in at the "Peony Flower City." My understanding is that if you visit during peony season (April), you must make this a must-visit spot. Early mornings with fewer people and peonies with dew are most vibrant; Outside the flowering season, it's more suitable for leisurely walks.

Friendly reminder: Food and beverage prices in the park are relatively high, so bring your own water and snacks, and keep your belongings safe. Visitors generally report that most believe Wangcheng Park is worth a special trip. It's recommended to slow down and follow the guide to listen to the explanations, saving time for the most impressive details and the best camera angles. Considering actual conditions, mountain weather can change quickly, so a windbreaker jacket is more practical than anything; Choose shoes that are non-slip and comfortable, and avoid spraining your ankle if you take fewer photos.

Day 2: Longmen Grottoes

Arrive early at Longmen Grottoes, take advantage of fewer people to first visit Binyang Three Caves and Lotus Cave, then climb Fengxian Temple to pay respects to the Great Buddha; Have lunch nearby, then walk through Dongshan Grottoes and Xiangshan Temple in the afternoon, and take photos by the Yi River at dusk to end a fulfilling day.

Attraction introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Longmen Grottoes, carved into the cliffs on both banks of the Yi River south of Luoyang city. Since Emperor Xiaowen of Northern Wei moved the capital to Luoyang, construction has continued through Eastern Wei, Western Wei, Northern Qi, Sui, Tang, and other dynasties. There are over 2,300 cave niches, over 100,000 statues, and more than 2,800 inscriptions and inscriptions preserved. The most impressive is the Vairocana Buddha at Fengxian Temple, standing over 17 meters tall, with a plump face and benevolent eyes. Legend has it that it was carved after Wu Zetian's likeness, marking the pinnacle of Tang dynasty stone carving art. Along with Dunhuang Mogao Caves and Datong Yungang, it is one of China's three great grottoes and a World Cultural Heritage site. When touring, head south along the Yi River trail from the Xishan Grottoes, where Binyang Three Caves, Ten Thousand Buddha Caves, and Lotus Cave each have highlights. Cross the bridge to the Dongshan Buddha Worship Platform for a panoramic view. My understanding is that in the morning, first visit the main cave of Xishan and admire the Big Buddha while there are fewer people; in the afternoon, go to the Dongshan Viewing Platform for the best lighting and angle; If you need to walk backward along both banks of the Yi River, a pair of comfortable shoes can save you a lot of effort.

Friendly reminder: Grottoes are mostly built along cliffs. When viewing, keep a distance from the cliff walls, hold the railings properly, and take care of the elderly and children. Visitors generally report that most find the Vairocana Buddha the most breathtaking, and the best light at sunset on the Western Hills; If you need to walk back along both banks of the Yi River, it's recommended to wear comfortable shoes and reserve half a day. Based on actual circumstances, don't shop impulsively; if you see a "limited-time offer," calm down for three minutes; If you really want to bring souvenirs, make sure to buy a reputable store and keep your receipts for peace of mind.

Day 3: Erlitou

Today is themed around Erlitou, avoiding peak crowds and staggering visits, and follow recommended routes for in-depth exploration; Enjoy local flavors nearby at noon, free time or guided tours in the afternoon, and stay at a hotel to rest in the evening.

Attraction introduction: Today's itinerary includes Erlitou attractions. The Erlitou site is located in Luoyang Yanshi, praised by scholars as the "Earliest China." It is a large capital site from the mid to late Xia Dynasty, unearthing turquoise dragon-shaped artifacts, bronze jue, bronze tripods, and other heavy artifacts, revealing the appearance of China's first royal capital. The turquoise dragon-shaped artifact is made from over 2,000 turquoise fragments inlaid and is known as "China's First Dragon," serving as important evidence of Chinese dragon worship. Erlitou The site museum presents the site with an archaeological sense and is an unmissable stop for studying the origins of Chinese civilization. My understanding is that before visiting, one should first understand the academic controversy surrounding the "Xia Capital," then look at the exhibits for a deeper understanding; The museum's exhibits are carefully crafted and worth taking your time.

Friendly reminder: The climbing section has many steps and steep slopes, so be sure to wear non-slip sports shoes. Those with mobility difficulties are advised to take the cable car up and down. Visitors generally report that Erlitou is worth a special trip. It's recommended to slow down, follow the guide's explanation, and save time for the most impressive details and camera angles. Depending on the situation, keep your documents and wallet separate. Take photos of important documents and keep them on your phone for backup. If lost, you can quickly reissue them without delaying your trip.
