Day 1: Mount Song

Early in the morning, head straight to Mount Song from the hotel, first listen to the guide's explanation of the background and highlights, then enjoy a leisurely tour and take additional camera shots according to your interests; After lunch, take a short rest, then return to the hotel in the evening to recharge for the next day.

Attraction introduction: One highlight of the itinerary is Mount Song. Mount Song is the Central Mountain among the Five Great Mountains, mainly located in Dengfeng City, divided into Taishi and Shaoshi Mountains. The main peak, Junji Peak, rises to about 1492 meters. Its most special feature is that Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism have been adjacent to each other for thousands of years on the same mountain: Songyang Academy was a major center for Neo-Confucianism in the Song Dynasty, and the famous story 'Standing in Snow at Chengmen' is said to have happened here; Zhongyue Temple is one of the largest and best-preserved temple complexes among the Five Great Mountains; The Star Observatory in Gaocheng Town was built under the supervision of Guo Shoujing during the Yuan Dynasty and is one of the oldest existing astronomical observation buildings. In 2010, the "Center of Heaven and Earth" historical architectural complex, represented by Songyang Academy, Zhongyue Temple, Songyue Temple Pagoda, Shaolin Temple Regular Residence, Pagoda Forest, First Patriarch's Hermitage, and Star Observation Platform, was inscribed on the World Heritage List. My understanding is that on the first day, there's no need to overindulge—first visit the academy and Zhongyue Temple to understand the ritual system of "Heaven and Earth in the Center," saving the energy for hiking later; If you have extra time, going to the Sanhuangzhai plank road on Shaoshi Mountain in the evening to watch the sunset is the most photogenic part of the entire trip.

Friendly reminder: The temperature difference between morning and evening in mountainous areas is large, and the wind is strong at the summit. A windproof jacket and warm inner layer are very necessary. Visitors generally report that Mount Song is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down and follow the guide to listen to the explanations, saving time for the most moving details and the best camera angles. Considering the actual situation, respect local customs, dress appropriately at religious sites, avoid casual advice, and a simple greeting can earn goodwill.

Day 2: Yin Ruins

Today's Yin Ruins Origin Exploration Tour focuses on the discovery site of oracle bone inscriptions and the story of the Stepmother Wuding cauldron, coordinating with the museum exhibits to learn about the Shang dynasty capital; Afternoon reshoots are free, evening rest is needed.

Attraction introduction: Today's itinerary includes Yin Ruins attractions. Yin Ruins is the ruins of the late Shang capital located at Anyang, the hometown of oracle bone inscriptions, and the excavation site of the Houmuwu Ding (originally called Simuwu Ding). It was listed as a World Cultural Heritage site in 2006. This was once the capital of the Shang Dynasty after Pan Geng moved to Yin, lasting over 270 years. Palace and ancestral temple ruins, royal tombs, and chariot pits are clearly visible. Oracle bone script was first discovered here, tracing China's trusted history back to the Shang dynasty; The new building of the Yin Ruins Museum systematically displays bronzes, jade, oracle bones, and other artifacts, serving as the most direct classroom for understanding Shang civilization. My understanding is that first visit palaces, ancestral temple sites, and chariot pits to establish spatial concepts, then visit museums to appreciate artifacts in detail; only when these two lines connect is it complete; Oracle bone script and bronze artifacts are the essence; walking through the explanation is far better than just skimming through.

Friendly reminder: There are many slippery mountain paths, so especially when going downhill, pay special attention to shifting your center of gravity and slowing down. A pair of knee pads is recommended. Visitors generally report that oracle bone script and Simuwu Ding bring history to life, and visitors say the new museum is more valuable than the open-air site; Reminder: Only by combining explanations can you truly understand. Considering actual conditions, the biggest fear of group tours is skimming the scenery; listening to explanations is the essence. The cultural stories behind each attraction are often more unforgettable than photos. If you don't understand something, ask the guide on the spot.
