Day 1: Longtan Grand Canyon

Today's Longtan Grand Canyon waterside trip focuses on Liubutan and Yixiantian to experience the "canyon's finest" red rock landforms; Rest in the afternoon, check in at night.

Attraction introduction: This stop is Longtan Grand Canyon. Located in Xin'an, it is a canyon famous for its Hongyan Valley and water flowing upward, earning it the reputation of a "canyon masterpiece" and an "ancient marine natural museum." Trails like Liubutan and Yixiantian are highly water-friendly, with the Hongyan cliffs and clear waters complementing each other. In summer, it is especially cool and refreshing, making it a family waterside destination not far from Luoyang city. The canyon stretches for several kilometers, with waterfalls, deep pools, and strange rocks along the way, offering a new view at every step. My understanding is that wearing a pair of non-slip river trekking shoes or sneakers is ideal, and valuables like phones should be waterproofed; Families with children should slow down the pace and choose gentle boardwalks without rushing to finish the entire route.

Friendly reminder: Signal inside the canyon may be poor. Agree on meeting points with the guide in advance and don't go alone. Most visitors generally say Longtan Grand Canyon is worth a special trip. It's recommended to slow down and follow the guide to the explanation, saving time for the most impressive details and the best camera angles. Based on your situation, don't shop impulsively. When you see a "limited-time offer," take a three-minute coolhead; If you really want to bring souvenirs, choose reputable stores and keep your receipts for peace of mind.

Day 2: Wangcheng Park

Gather in the morning and depart for Wangcheng Park. Follow the guide along the main route, visiting all the highlights one by one, leaving enough time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, continue in the afternoon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Wangcheng Park. Wangcheng Park is located on Luoyang, named for its location atop the ruins of the Eastern Zhou royal city. It has been one of the main venues for the China Luoyang Peony Culture Festival and is the most familiar city park to Luoyang residents. Every April, famous peonies such as Yao Huang, Wei Purple, and Zhao Pink bloom in a dazzling display of vibrant colors; The park also preserves the ruins of Zhou King's City and a zoo, combining historical heritage with leisure functions, making it a classic spot for visitors to check in at the "Peony Flower City." My understanding is that if you visit during peony season (April), you must make this a must-visit spot. Early mornings with fewer people and peonies with dew are most vibrant; Outside the flowering season, it's more suitable for leisurely walks.

Friendly reminder: Popular attractions have long queues. Upon entry, get a map and performance schedule to prioritize the must-see attractions. Visitors generally report that Wangcheng Park is worth a special trip. It's recommended to slow down and follow the guide to listen to the explanations, saving time for the most impressive details and the best camera angles. Depending on the situation, keep your documents and wallet separate. Take photos of important documents and keep them on your phone for backup. If lost, you can quickly reissue them without delaying your trip.

Day 3: Laojun Mountain

Early in the morning, board Laojun Mountain and take the two-level cable car to the Golden Summit, check in at the scenic spots and the sea of clouds at sunrise; In the afternoon, slowly descend along the Ten-Mile Painted Screen, changing scenery at every step, and return at dusk.

Attraction introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Laojun Mountain, located in Luanchuan County Luoyang. It is the main peak of Funiu Mountain and a famous Taoist mountain, said to be the place where Laozi, the founder of Taoism, retired for cultivation. The Golden Summit Daoist temple cluster stands atop a peak over 2,000 meters above sea level. Its golden tiles and red walls and surging sea of clouds are renowned as "a spectacular feast on earth and a glimpse of the flourishing world." The Ten-Mile Painted Screen is the highlight of the entire trip. A high-altitude plank road suspended above a sheer cliff changes views with every step, offering panoramic views of peaks, forests, sea of clouds, and sunrises. You can take a two-level cable car up the mountain; on sunny days, you can watch the sea of clouds and sunrise from the summit. In winter, it is a highly popular snow-viewing spot in the Central Plains. My understanding is: be sure to take the cable car up the mountain early to seize the golden summit and the beautiful scenery of the Ten-Mile Painting Screen; At the summit, the wind is strong and the temperature low; a windbreaker and thermos bottle are standard, and the glass observation deck is a must-have.

Friendly reminder: The mountain area has large temperature differences between morning and evening, and the wind at the summit is strong, so a windproof jacket and warm inner layer are very necessary. Visitors generally report that the sea of clouds and sunrise at the Golden Summit are recognized as the biggest highlights, and many people stay at the summit waiting for dawn; A reminder: the large temperature difference at the summit and long cable car queues are essential, so be sure to arrive early during peak season. Depending on the situation, carry some change and small packs of snacks to help during poor signal or emergency supplies at scenic spots. Don't wait until you're hungry to find them.
