Day 1: Longmen Grottoes

Early in the morning, enter Longmen Grottoes, take advantage of the few people to first visit Binyang Three Caves and Lotus Cave, then climb Fengxian Temple to admire the Grand Buddha; have a nearby lunch at noon, and in the afternoon visit Dongshan Grottoes and Xiangshan Temple, taking photos by the Yi River at sunset to end a fulfilling day.

Attraction introduction: This stop is at Longmen Grottoes. Longmen Grottoes was carved into the cliffs on both sides of the Yi River, with over 2,000 existing niches and more than 100,000 statues. The Luohan Buddha at Fengxian Temple is the most stunning. Together with Dunhuang and Yungang, it is known as one of the three major grottoes, representing the peak of stone carving art from the Northern Wei to the High Tang period. It is recommended to reserve half a day to appreciate it carefully, especially Fengxian Temple's Luohan Buddha, Binyang Three Caves, and Lotus Cave.

Tips: There is a lot of walking throughout the itinerary, so wearing comfortable sports shoes is recommended, and bring a light jacket according to the weather; be sure to carry your ID or other valid documents, follow the guide closely, and remember the meeting times and locations. Most tourists find the Luohan Buddha the most impressive, with the best light for photos at sunset on West Mountain; walking along both sides of the Yi River requires retracing your steps, so wear comfortable shoes and reserve half a day. Depending on the situation, the park paths are flat but involve a lot of walking, so comfortable shoes are recommended; during holidays, it can be crowded, so try to visit off-peak.

Day 2: Laojun Mountain

Today's deep tour: After taking the cable car up the mountain, focus on the Golden Summit, Ten-Mile Painted Screen, and the Glass Viewing Platform, following the guide to learn about Taoist culture and the geology of Funiu Mountains; in the afternoon, descend the mountain and rest to recharge for the next day.

Attraction introduction: One of the highlights planned in the itinerary is the Golden Summit. Located in Luanchuan, the Golden Summit Taoist Temple Complex stands above the sea of clouds. The sunrise and snowfall create a fairyland-like scenery, making it a recently popular Taoist sacred mountain and photography hotspot. Night climbs to view the Milky Way have also become a scene worth seeing. Among them, the Golden Summit Taoist Temple Complex, Ten-Mile Painted Screen, and Glass Viewing Platform are the most worth detailed viewing.

Friendly tips: The itinerary includes mountain road sections, with large temperature differences between morning and evening and many steps. It is recommended to wear a light jacket and non-slip sports shoes, and pay attention to your footing on stairs. Be sure to bring your ID and other valid documents, follow the guide throughout, and remember the meeting times and locations. Visitors generally report that the sea of clouds and sunrise at the Golden Summit are considered the biggest highlights, with many staying on the mountain overnight to catch dawn. Please note the large temperature difference at the summit and long queues for the cable car; during peak season, be sure to start early. Considering actual conditions, the Ten-Mile Painted Screen trail is relatively long, so those with insufficient stamina can take the cable car. Elderly people and children should proceed according to their physical ability.

Day 3: Red Flag Canal

In the morning, visit Youth Cave, see the Watershed Garden, and experience the 'Artificial Heavenly River' on the cliffs of the Taihang Mountains; have lunch nearby at noon, and in the afternoon visit Shunyou or Wangxiang Rock, then return in the evening.

Attraction Introduction: Today's itinerary includes one attraction, which is located in Linzhou. It is the 'Artificial Heavenly River' carved into the mid-slope of the Taihang Mountains in the 1960s, with a total length of over 1,500 kilometers, praised as the 'Eighth Wonder of the World.' It carries the spirit of hard work and perseverance. Among them, Youth Cave, Watershed Garden, and Luosi Pond are the most worth a detailed look.

Tips: The trip involves a lot of walking, so it is recommended to wear comfortable sneakers and bring a light jacket according to the weather; be sure to carry your ID and other valid documents, follow the guide throughout, and remember the meeting time and place. Visitors generally feel that the 'Artificial Heavenly River' has a strong spiritual landmark significance, which resonates more with middle-aged tourists; it is recommended to listen to the exhibition explanations to understand that period of history. In practice, to get authentic food, go deeper into the alleys, as queues at the main entrance are long and the food is average; for specialties, compare prices after asking, as local supermarkets often offer more genuine products.
