Day 1: Free time

Arrive early in the morning Longtan Grand Canyon and take a leisurely stroll along the creek trail while cool—especially refreshing in summer. Free time in the afternoon, you can take extra photos of the Skyline Skirt, and return in the evening.

Friendly reminder: The biggest fear in free time is getting caught off guard at the last minute. It's recommended to keep your ID and cash separately and confirm the meeting time and place with the guide in advance. Visitors generally report that most spend their free time sleeping until they wake up naturally, then visit and take supplementary photos, making for a very relaxed experience. Depending on the situation, keep your ID and wallet separately. Take photos of important documents and keep them on your phone for backup. If lost, you can quickly reissue them without delaying your trip.

Day 2: Longmen Grottoes

Today's tour Longmen Grottoes is recommended to spend half a day: the main cave of Xishan Mountain, the Dongshan Grandstand, and Xiangshan Temple's White Garden are connected in one line, followed by explanations to understand the stories behind the stone carvings of the Northern Wei and Tang dynasties; Return in the evening to rest.

Attraction introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Longmen Grottoes, carved into the cliffs on both banks of the Yi River south of Luoyang city. Since Emperor Xiaowen of Northern Wei moved the capital to Luoyang, construction has continued through Eastern Wei, Western Wei, Northern Qi, Sui, Tang, and other dynasties. There are over 2,300 cave niches, over 100,000 statues, and more than 2,800 inscriptions and inscriptions preserved. The most impressive is the Vairocana Buddha at Fengxian Temple, standing over 17 meters tall, with a plump face and benevolent eyes. Legend has it that it was carved after Wu Zetian's likeness, marking the pinnacle of Tang dynasty stone carving art. Along with Dunhuang Mogao Caves and Datong Yungang, it is one of China's three great grottoes and a World Cultural Heritage site. When touring, head south along the Yi River trail from the Xishan Grottoes, where Binyang Three Caves, Ten Thousand Buddha Caves, and Lotus Cave each have highlights. Cross the bridge to the Dongshan Buddha Worship Platform for a panoramic view. My understanding is that in the morning, first visit the main cave of Xishan and admire the Big Buddha while there are fewer people; in the afternoon, go to the Dongshan Viewing Platform for the best lighting and angle; If you need to walk backward along both banks of the Yi River, a pair of comfortable shoes can save you a lot of effort.

Friendly reminder: UV rays in the grotto scenic area are strong. On sunny days, prepare a sun hat and sunscreen, and remember to stay hydrated since the route is long. Visitors generally report that most find the Vairocana Buddha the most breathtaking, and the best light at sunset on Xishan. If you need to walk back along both banks of the Yi River, it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes and allow half a day. Based on actual conditions, respect local customs, dress appropriately when entering religious sites, avoid random advice, and a simple greeting can be met with goodwill.

Day 3: Wangcheng Park

Gather in the morning and depart for the royal city. Follow the guide along the main route, visiting all the highlights one by one, leaving enough time for photos and rest; Enjoy local specialties at noon, continue deeper in the afternoon, check into the hotel in the evening, and recharge for the next day's itinerary.

Attraction introduction: A highlight of the itinerary is Wangcheng Park. Wangcheng Park is located on Luoyang, named for its location atop the ruins of the Eastern Zhou royal city. It has been one of the main venues for the China Luoyang Peony Culture Festival and is the most familiar city park to Luoyang residents. Every April, famous peonies such as Yao Huang, Wei Purple, and Zhao Pink bloom in a dazzling display of vibrant colors; The park also preserves the ruins of Zhou King's City and a zoo, combining historical heritage with leisure functions, making it a classic spot for visitors to check in at the "Peony Flower City." My understanding is that if you visit during peony season (April), you must make this a must-visit spot. Early mornings with fewer people and peonies with dew are most vibrant; Outside the flowering season, it's more suitable for leisurely walks.

Friendly reminder: When visiting the park with kids, be mindful of the risk of getting lost. Arrange a meeting point in advance and prepare contact information cards for your child. Visitors generally report that most think Wangcheng Park is worth a special trip. It's recommended to slow down and follow the guide to listen to the explanation, saving time for the most moving details and the best camera angles. Considering actual circumstances, the biggest fear in group tours is skimming the sights; listening to explanations is the essence. The cultural stories behind each attraction are often more memorable than photos. If you don't understand, ask the guide on the spot.
