Day 1 Arrival Zhengzhou | Laojun Golden Summit

afternoon: visit Laojun Golden Summit (~4.0h, hike to the summit for sweeping mountain views and fresh air). (This tour is senior (silver-hair) friendly with an easy pace and little climbing.)[Attraction intro] Jiguandong Cave: Official: A natural limestone cave in Luanchuan (Luoyang), over 1 km long, with fantastical stalactites, stalagmites and curtains, constant temperature year-round—dubbed “the top cave of the north.” Personal note: Inside is slippery with many steps—hold the rail. Outside is cool in summer while inside stays mild; a light layer is enough.; Laojun Mountain: Official: The main peak of the Funiu range in Luanchuan (Luoyang), 2,217 m, where Laozi is said to have retired to cultivate—a Taoist holy site. Golden-summit temples, the Ten-Li Painting Screen and sea of clouds are the three highlights; winter snow is superb. Personal note: Summit winds and temperature swings are sharp—bring a thick coat.
