Henan 3-day tour covering Scenic Area and Scenic Area. Sightseeing tickets and shuttle bus included.
Highlights
Day 1: Mount Emei
In the morning, gather and depart for Mount Emei, following the guide to visit the main attractions along the primary route, covering all the highlights, with ample time reserved for photography and rest; enjoy local specialty dishes at noon, continue exploring in the afternoon, and check into the hotel in the evening to recharge for the next day's itinerary.
Attraction Introduction: Our stop is Mount Emei, one of the four great Buddhist mountains and the site of the Samantabhadra altar. The Golden Summit glows magnificently in the sea of clouds, and monkey groups roam the forests. You can take the cable car to the top to watch the sunrise and the sea of clouds. The Qingyin Pavilion halfway up the mountain and the ecological monkey area are suitable for leisurely visits. In my understanding, the sunrise and sea of clouds on the mountain are unpredictable; focusing on the journey itself often brings unexpected joys.
Tips: Many mountain paths are slippery; be especially careful on descents, shift your center of gravity backward, and slow down. Knee pads are recommended. Visitors generally report that the Golden Summit's Samantabhadra statue and the monkeys are popular, while the sea of clouds and Buddha's halo are rare to see. Be cautious of monkeys snatching food and keep your bags secure. Considering actual conditions, the best photo opportunities are early in the morning or late in the afternoon—fewer people and softer light in the morning, golden glow at dusk, while noon has harsh and crowded lighting. So it may be better to rest during the peak midday hours.
Day 2: Free time
Set off from the hotel early in the morning and head straight to Leshan. First, listen to the tour guide explain the background and highlights, then enjoy a leisurely self-guided visit, taking extra shots according to your interests; after lunch, rest for a while, and return to the hotel in the evening to recharge for the next day.
Attraction Introduction: A key highlight arranged in the itinerary is Leshan, located at the confluence of the Minjiang, Qingyi, and Dadu Rivers, carved into the cliff, more than seventy meters high, and is the world's largest stone-carved sitting Buddha. You can take a boat to view its full stature from afar, or walk along the Nine-Bend Plank Road to see the Buddha's feet up close, and enjoy the grandeur of the three rivers alongside the statue. My understanding is that it is windy on the mountaintop and the temperature difference is significant, so a windbreaker and an insulated cup are must-haves; don’t go light and freeze yourself.
Tips: The climbing sections have many steps and steep slopes. Make sure to wear non-slip sports shoes, and those with mobility issues are advised to use the cable car for ascending and descending. Tourists generally report that most visitors think Leshan is worth a special trip. It is recommended to slow down, listen to the guide's explanations, and spend time on the details and photo spots that impress you the most. In practice, the biggest concern on long trips is dehydration, so carry a water bottle and sip in small amounts frequently; on the first night in the highlands or mountains, do not wash your hair or bathe for too long, giving your body some time to adapt.
Day 3: Departure
Transfer to the station/airport per your departure, ending a pleasant journey.
Friendly tips: Pack the night before and keep ID, power bank and souvenirs together; allow extra time for the station/airport; bring your ID and stay with your guide, noting the meeting time and place. Traveler feedback — Return-day travelers remind: pack ID and souvenirs the night before; allow extra time. Practical note — Return-day tip: pack ID, power bank and souvenirs the night before; allow extra time—mountain roads are unpredictable.
